Pardon me, not as quick as others, but how is it a lock that WC is in yet Siegel isnt?

Ok..............here it is:

The only way this can occur is siegel loses to Lebanon and Blackman beats Pats............This would put siegel in 3-way with Blackman and the Smyrna/WC loser

WC beats Smyrna and WC is 2nd.............3-way for 3rd (siegel, Blackman, Smyrna)--no head to head tie-breaker, so go to best overall record; that would be Blackman (6-4); now head to head would give 4th to Siegel.

Smyrna beats WC and Smyrna is 2nd.............3-way for 3rd (siegel, Blackman, WC)--no head to head tie-breaker, so go to best overall record; that would be WC (7-3); now head to head would give 4th to Blackman.

so thats all folks!

I can believe LC and Cookeville, but its hard for me to believe that a 2 win team can beat any team in our region.

You better believe it..............that HC at FC (ELA) thought he had ya'll on the ropes, and he is coming to get someone in 4-5A. Might be siegel; them Stars better watch out!

Of course, he lost to Smith Co. and Shelbyville outside the Region 3,....................Hope springs eternal!!

They may give Siegel a scare, but they wont be able to outscore them. He's got the jimmy's and the joe's as you would like to say, but the experience to go along with it just is not there yet. At some point in the game, almost every team Oakland has played got them thinking they had the Patriots on the ropes, yet their record speaks otherwise. Hope springs eternal, but it doesnt usually end on a good note, not when you are only going to win 3-4 games.

let's just say I wouldn't want to be the team who has to travel to cookeville or the pit.

Cookeville, The Pit: OK! but I can assure you this, LC or Cookeville will not want a young, hungry, fast and Very Physical, Smyrna team on the other side of their bracket in week 1 of the playoffs. You can Bank on that!

They may say Smyrna's not the same team as the 5A Back 2 Back state champs of the resent past, and they may be right but this Smyrna team will battle and fight and be a tough out.

Also, Siegel, Wilson Central and yes even Blackman, will give them all they want at their places.

The very talented and deep 4-5A boys, will have a strong showing in the playoff, no matter who they draw.

I think the truly sad thing is that its possible for a team to miss the playoffs in our region and go 4-3 in region play, while in region 3, a couple of games gets you win, 4 wins probably wins the thing for your or at least gets you homefield.

mute point, as the regions will change next year. Bottom line if you're not good enough to place in the top 4 of 4-5A, you're not good enough to win state. That is the goal isn't it.

    • Won't happen. College coaches will back the coach every time and it cost this young lady her senior season. Looks like the player may be right on this one. School let her  go after one season. This stuff happens more than you think.
    • “No college is going to offer a scholarship to a player that is kicked off of the team.” For language? I’m not seeing that as a dealbreaker.
    • Why did the coach get rehired after she was let go as an assistant by the former Warren County coach and the current AD?? Is that accurate?? I am very familiar with situations like this. Suprised lawsuits haven't happend before. If the coach unfairly let the player go, I think she has a shot because it cost her a scholarship. No college is going to offer a scholarship to a player that is kicked off of the team. Not going to happen. There are bad hires like this a bunch and kids are treated unfairly by coaches that can't coach a lick and have super long ropes somehow. Amazing how some of these coaches get hired and keep their job.
    • I am going to assume you are not a lawyer, and most reasonable lawyers would not say the lawsuit has a zero percent chance in court. I agree with you that a coach has the ability to dismiss anyone from a team. However, Ms. Winfree was never presented with the opportunity to present her witnesses and have them tell the coaches and administrators what they heard. A lawyer could better explain the lawsuit and the grounds to you. Before you start making wild assumptions about the lawsuit, would it be too much to ask that you do a little legal research first? The lawsuit is dealing with due process, loss of property, and defamation.   You can read the lawsuit here: https://bdnewsletter.files.wordpress.com/2024/04/doc-1-complaint-filed-4-18-2024.pdf
    • The administration took the path of backing the coach and whispering to people that the kid was a problem. The reality is that the kid was never a problem on a team or classroom. The player says she has witnessed who back her not saying the f-word.  Why did the coach make that story up and other stories? I am not Sigmund Freud and do not have an answer for the ex=-coach's behavior..
