congrats to MTCS for a great season and a playoff run and congrats to Wayne Co. for a good win. MTCS work hard and next year we can have a sweep for region 5. im proud of you guys and what you have done in the short time your program has been competitive. Keep up the good work and prepare for next season. offseason wins championships.

 

 

Nice post. Obviously, everyone connected to MTCS is extremely proud of the progress made this season. The 6 seniors were freshmen when football started at the school under Coach Bassham. We all congratulate them on getting the program to this level. Coach Shadowens and his staff have done a terrific job this year.

 

Wayne County played well and they have several talented athletes. The QB is elusive -- I remember a 3rd and 21 early in the game where he was flushed out of the pocket and found a receiver downfield who laid out for a ball and caught it for a 30-40 yard gain. Seems like WC passed early and most of their running yards came after they got up by a few scores. They can move the ball either way.

 

After being down 21-0 at half and coming out for a score (aided by a muffed punt) to close it to 21-7, MTCS had some life. However, WC answered the bell and stretched it back to 3 scores. The rest of the half was essentially each team keeping pace.

 

Should be a good match-up this week with JB coming to town.
