Bye bye. Have a nice winter and spring. See you next year without Tavarres.

Same to you and your ongoing hate for Ensworth and countless love shown to MBA. Hope MBA has a nice winter (opps they will lose to Ensworth in Basketball so the winter will not be so nice) and spring also. See you next year without Wise, Ford, Johnson and others. Ensworth will beat MBA again next year as they spanked MBA this year. It did not matter to you if MBA won or lose as long as Ensworth did not make it to the Championship game. Great season to Ensworth in their second year of Varsity play!

Great game tonight - it lived up to the billing.

A question for someone at the game -- can anyone explain to me the "do over" play that EHS got after the sack/fumble by Jefferson?? As a BA supporter I thought that Ensworth had lost the ball (biased), but regardless I can't figure out why they re-set the ball and re did the play . . . I didn't see a flag thrown and there was a lot of confusion on the field. I also think that EHS got away with breaking the huddle with 12 men on that final scoring drive but I guess that's part of the game.

Congrats to Ensworth on a great season and Congrats to BA on a great game. Good luck -- Beat MUS!!

It was an inadvertent whistle. Official blew the play dead.

Bowers got to choose between the play where the whistle blew it dead or a "do over".

No doubt the official made a bad call, but the play was in front of Bowers, McGraw and Hill by the EHS sidelines and he was working under pressure.

Nice try. Not an MBA'er.

Try again, Hawaii Smurf.

that call could have easily been a killer to BA had BA not stopped EHS on that last drive. I was there and it was clearly a fumble and a huge play for the Eagles. Had they taken over there EHS would more than likely not scored again. If EHS had won, wow, that call would have been one controversial call. That crew was terrible all night, very confused, I thought they were amateurish and unsure of themselves, like this was their first big game.

Confused and amateurish are two very good words to describe that team of officials. It was a hard fought game and the officials acted like a third team out there. Crazy stuff to watch helpless on the sidelines! BA came out strong and played better than they have all year. Ensworth came from behind and was nearly able to keep their undefeated season. It was one of the better high school games I have seen in a while, particulary in inclement weather conditions. Ensworth should be proud of the season they have had, especially as this was their second year.

Do they bring in officials from outside the area for this level of the playoffs?

I for one think EHS will be very good from here on...I put more faith in coaches who build programs than individual players, and I believe EHS has a fantastic coach in Bowers, along with a great staff. They will continue to bring in great players.

However, that being said, Jefferson is the most dangerous player I have seen this year. While a totally different style of player, he puts the same fear into a defense with his legs that BJ Coleman ('07) did with his arm.

Appreciate the explanation. It was a tough call from a BA stand point and I am glad that it didn't effect the final outcome (although it certainly could have). This was the best I've seen BA play all year (didn't get to see them last week). If they can play with that intensity and without mistake again in the final, they should have a good chance against MUS

You had to wonder when this was going to happen. there is too much talent and good coaching for this team to finish the season anywhere other than murfressboro in the middle of the week. not tu suggest they're a lock to win it, but they certainly have a lot of talent.

I have to agree...the team was emotional, played very hard, and Coach Potter has tweaked the offense a great deal. He ran a lot of the winged t and option like he did at McCallie, and he was able to get several playmakers involved in the offense. The Defense was again very good, just BA's best showing.

I think Coach Potter is winning over the team after some extremely tough losses, followed by some VERY demanding practices and challenges. Many have commented on BA teams of recent years not playing with the same intensity of years past, and I think that is true. There has been a gradual slide that is hard to explain, but I think Ralph has definitely got his finger on what has ailed this program and he is doing the right things to bring back that edge and intangibles that BA was known for.

I don't see BA (or any team) returning to the dominance they once had, the schedules and competition are just too tough year in and year out, but I see BA's reputation of playing hard, smart, and tough returning. I think as of late they are known for talent that has underachieved--I predict in the years to come they will be known for their toughness, discipline, and execution...and if they can continue to have some talent (they will), wow...
