Farragut @ Ooltewah Round 3

What I have found curious on this thread is how tame the Owls fans have been. There have not been the outrageous predictions of another Ooltewah blow out.....Why is that? And I'm not talking about all Owls fans only those that seem to run their "keyboard".

Did the non-blow out game with Soddy bring the Owl posters down to reality? That yes, Ooltewah is a very good team, but can be beaten. That beating a team twice is harder than anticipated. I hope the Owls do run the table....but sometimes it's hard to pull for them, because of some of their posters.

ok ,owls 250 farragut 0. just kidding. i am looking forward to this war on friday night. the OWLS NEST will be packed and i like the owls to pull away late by a couple scores.

Owls just need to play their game and the score will take care of itself. D you need to maintin your gaps like you have done all year. Our D line has been fantastic, but no one has mentioned how great our backers have played. They have really allowed the line to attack and know that someone has their back. I hope the secondary comes to play. Man up, no one is going to beat you long with the speed we have. Special teams need to make sure there are no long run backs. Let John Long kick it through the end zone every time instead of that little half kick along the side line. The O needs to play mistake free. Just don't give them any cheap ones. I know coach will run, run and run some more, but don't forget the pass to the TE or the quick out to Sammy.

Once again, play your game and the score will take care of itself.

Go Owls

Lookin at this game from a unbiased standpoint i have to go with Ooltewah. Ooltewah has proven themselves as a TN HSFB superpower this year IMO. Since the first time they met they have continued to get better. I will have to go with Ooltewah by at least 3 TD's. Thats apart from the fact of all the Farragut fans that have trashed talked me and my Alcoa squad this year. Good luck Ooltewah, Lookin forward to seein you, MAryville, SP , and Catholic in the Boro /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

These players are in great shape, from here on out we will be playing outstanding football teams. Its win or go home! Go Owls !

Who excatly?..I understand what you mean from a sub stand point, but,I don't understand the butt-kissing comment? I honestly thought the coaches have been O.K. subbing as of late,I might be wrong. AND you are correct about MIXING IT UP,VERY CRUCIAL NEXT FEW GAMES hopefully!!

Your big o butt needs to feel good that Benny Monroe has even graced the field at Ooltewah High School. Benny is a legend in High school football and could have went to any school and done the same thing he has done here. It is evedent that you are a disgruntled parent or close to someone in the program who has a underclassman that is not getting much playing time. Ooltewah wins or loses because of the great coaching that is there not because he has excellent players, but I will say that there are some great athletes at Ooltewah. Next year if he stays we are about to have a rivarly at Ooltewah like we have never seen with Cleveland High School coming into our schedule and this is something that has needed to happen for along time. Ooltewah has had a hard time filling the schedule for 2 years not because of the players but because of the High School Hall of fame coach that it has. Please be careful of what you say or Benny could be over at the new school next year or somewhere else kicking Ooltewah's butt with a new team and beating the same players he is coaching this year. Bring back the wing T.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
