An 11 month contract is one more month of their teacher pay. A 12 month is two more months. It could be an additional $5,000 to $9,000, depending on where you are on the salary schedule if you get a twelve month contract. If it is eleven the difference would be $2,500 to $4,500. I do not know what Claiborne's salary schedule or coaching supplement scale looks like. I also don't know whether they give 11 and 12 month contracts to coaches. It is all a matter of public record and can be obtained at the school system's central office under the Tennessee Public Records Act. The information may be on the school system's website.

Is it true that Claiborne has had more players tell the coach that they will not play next season? Assistant coach got smart and decided not to return. How many more years can this go on? Band is gone due to lack of interest. Band had more success and less problems than girls basketball. It is amazing that hiring one person can basically ruin school spirit and years of success. How long can this community keep this going? Seems like the feelings of the majority have been overridden. Why was she allowed to keep her job after her previous records at Claiborne? Maybe the assistant coach should have become the head coach and the head coach should have been sent back to elementary for further training. No chance of success as long as she is coach. Great program at one time has become a joke. Check CoachT, click under claiborne girls and look at records/failure for reference before and after she became coach 2 seasons ago.

Could be the attitude of those around the program that are bringing it down. I don't think you could say that Union has tore it up since she left!

This is the problem with high school sports now, those around programs spew nothing but venom and expect their beloved program to grow and be successful.

It takes a supportive administration and community to have a great program!

Just my take!

It will take a while for Union County to rebuild. Their community can tell you about this. Ask around. This coach has developed a habit of controversy and failure at coaching high school. No community will support any coach such as this. Too many issues, too many problems, and she has little to no support from the students and most of her players. Talk to the seniors that have played for her. It this fair to the students and community? I agree that it is time for this community to come together. It can only hasppen when this program is under a new coach.
