kazam37
Okey-Dokey......here we go! Lets start with the defensive line: Nick Daugherty and Bart Canfield these two were men among boys! Both could plug the run and generate a pass rush inside with the best of them. Plus, the both required the other teams to block them with two sometimes three linemen. The only weakness evident from either one was Nick (because of his size) could get a little winded sometimes. Still....unblockable one on one! What a great pair of tackles these two were! More homework on my DE's......give me time, Dude! kazam37
I know a lot of guys that played DE during their career.......and they were all tremendous players. Some stand a little better in my eyes. I think I can be swayed in this department! /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> Anyone want to chime in and convince me that "????????" should make my all time team! I could throw you some names, but I would rather see if we are on the same wave-length. I have half a mind to move a great athlete to this position, just to get him on the field! /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> But i probably won't! allorange
Nick Daugherty , was a nose guard {a stand up nose guard at that} and the best I have seen at that position to play for Oneida 300 plus pounds .Back than football was being played in a ten yard radius Nick was as guick as any defence player on the team within the ten yard radius . kazam37
Nose Guard.....Smoze Guard......standing up or sitting down......he's my DT. Can you think of anyone that can stuff a gap as effectively as Nick. Although my DT's and DE's are all going to be great players.....the linebacking crew behind them is also special, so good luck running on my all time team. (it's not impossible, but it is close) /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> I still can't quite pull the trigger on my DE's. Question: Does anyone know who the all time leader in sacks is at Oneida? I don't have a clue! /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> Are there any DE's among the all time career tacklers? I consider this a key stat, because if there is one, he should be considered a special player, as DE's are primarily used as containment players or sack specialist! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Kazzy /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> ps-come on help a brother out! allorange
I can not pick any one that can stuff a gap such as nick , he was that good I thought we were picking a team at what position they played .... My bad , but when you watched him play , you know were he played, the mind set is make an all star team at the position they played .And it was not Nose guard ... or Smoze Guard .....Standing up and never sitting down on Nicks part...... Kaz, No idea on the sack leader at Oneida and I wasnt fortunate enough to watch either play but just about everyone I know would choose the two Dustins. allorange
Danny Douglas Defence End small but played with a lot of heart and did win his share of awards in school and had alot of sacks and I think it was between him or Nick who was the sack leader in the late 70's .He was hard to block and quick as a cat I seen him split the side of his helmet in one game with a hard tackle. kazam37
Who can tell me about T. Stephens? Didn't he go on and play several years at Austin Peay? I am fairly sure he was a DE, and he coaches that position with the current staff. I think I'm beginning to narrow it down now to just about 3 or 4 players......all deserving based on what I have heard! My linebackers are coming up soon and I'm pretty confident with who I'm taking. All four are vicious hitters....and they came with a vegence when they played! You might be able to sway me on one, but three of them are sure bets, IMO! Two DE's will be upcoming after a little more deliberation! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Kazeeter /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

fanboi
Oneida made a good run this year, and are losing alot of big men up front and a leader at Qb. They have alot to live up to after this season but i dont expect anything less than a run for the gold again. What do you guys think? I think that Oneida will have a hard time making a repeat of last year. They are losing alot of solid players and on top of that a head coach. Good luck oneida but the odds are aginst you. I think they have a better chance, there is no pressure on this class with 17 seniors This class as always excelled . New coach not really same system with no more changes than if the head coach was staying, experience caching staff that has worked together for 2 years. Size speed and maturity that what the this teams has on it's side.
