Should be a good match up in this game if you would like to come watch a 6'8" against 6'4". Sometimes the views not same in everyones eyes.

If I am not there, I am going to need someone to take some very good mental notes. I know I can count on you for the real deal!!!

I have a little bit of side work going lately /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

While I am aware of the 6'8" player at Smith but i'm waiting on someone to post that she has begun to reach her potential with he coaching there. I see box scores that are lopsided with her stats not many wins. That does not make a player. it makes a losing school with a potentially great player. Yes I saw her last year and marvelled at her size but expected her technicals to be better against good teams. No I'm not degradiing this player but admire her and hope her coach can help her improve her technicals and footwork more.

The same is for a player or more that great potential in two sports at Ravenwood. It would be great to see that matchup. Here is a 6'5" player that certainly is a leaper and a good athlete in Volleyball and Basketball and likely can pick her sport. Post coaching and a coaching change might not be the best in Basketball and Volleyball is not even close to potential. Something is to be said about finding appropriate coaching for players with exceptional skills or maybe someone thinks the appropriate coach is there. One should try to evaluate the skill levels of those in that catagory and see what improvement is being seen.

I haven't seen Kayci play in a few years, but it sounds like you're leaving everything up to the high school coach. If a player wants to expand on their skills, it's up to them to take responsibility for that. There are things they can do outside of school to get better. A high school coach is not a personal trainer, they have other kids to help, especially if those other kids are not up to par.

SC has not had a losing season is several years. They are 5-2 this year. What's the deal with the coaching questions?

. Maybe if u look closer at their schedule u will find the games they have won have been against all single a schools I believe. That's one reason for the no losing record. They play about 9 or 10 games against single a competition this season and it's not top single a teams caliber either like a jc or clarkrange, or even teams that are tops in their own district for that matter. But maybe winning more games is more important than preparing yourself for a tough district/postseason run.

I agree...I am a firm believer that ball players are made at home and teams are made on the court. In other words, there are things one should do at home/local park/gym,etc. to make themselves better for the team. Good luck to both teams.

I agree also.

Success in anything in life is a_lot of hard work. There are no free passes. I hope that this kid (just as I do every kid) is successful at whatever it is that she wants to be successful at. From everything I have heard, and trust me I have sure heard a_lot....especially after I posted an opinion here one time) she is a great kid. There is one quote from that fat, rib and sauce eatin', piece of crap football coach George Perles...from his days at Mich State...that all kids need to pay attention to: "Work hard and keep your mouth shut, and good things will happen".

There are a few message board posters out there that could do well to take that same advice. hahahahaa /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

The schedule was made more to accomodate the boys. SC has played a weak schedule for a several years for that reason. Maybe we should drop the Kitties and upgrade. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> I also don't see your team playing a very tough schedule either.

    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
    • I'm from Cloudland and we've never played a sectional game.  We need to win tomorrow night to avoid that bus ride.  Us and north greene can play with you guys so I'm expecting good games whoever the matchup is.
