I think that it is an arguable point that the Clarkrange vs Celina/Clay County game has been a much bigger rivalry over the years than the Clarkrange vs Jackson County game has.

IT HAS IN RECENT YEARS MAINLY BECAUSE JC WAS AA AND NOT A DISTRICT GAME TIL LATELY BUT ANYTIME YOU DEFEAT A COACH ROGERS TEAM YOU BETTER ENJOY IT BECAUSE IT DON'T HAPPEN OFTEN. For us old timers we remember Lamar and Joe Halfacre having some battles when we were in same district. Goodluck too both teams tonight.

No excuses. The Lady Dawgs definitely looked liked they had read all the press clippings concerning how good Clarkrange was. I have never seen our girls play that tight in the first half. We played liked we were scared to death. My hat is off to the Lady Buffs. They are a very talented team. Jury is still out on the BEST EVER CLARKRANGE HAS PUT ON THE FLOOR. They will be even tougher come tournament time. Heady is a good fit with them. After seeing Monterey's team this year, her talent would have been wasted.

 

I must say I will put the Lady Dawgs bench up against the Lady Buffs bench any time you are ready. What did the Clarkrange faithful think about our next up and coming star Sydney Roach #33 (freshman)? Her defense did give the Lady Buffs fits at times. NO 75 points. NO 50 point win margin. Just a Clarkrange win.

Both teams had 21 fouls. CR scored 21 points from the foul line. Clay Co

had 9 points from foul line.

 

From the 3 point range Clay Co had 2 and CR had 4 of 17 attempts. CR had

around 18 turnovers.

 

Congratulations to the Lady Buffaloes. Buffaloes will need to work on their

execution and turnovers in their quest for the trip to the Boro.

CR looked like they were just going thru the motions tonight. Pretty lethargic effort. No fire in the team at all. I thought they were sleep walking most of the night. They are not buying into what Coach Rogers is doing which is coaching for the tournament. He wasn't coaching against CC tonight he was trying to force them into their sets and transition offenses. He is trying to make them run his offense smoothly which they are struggling with now because each of the starters just wants to shoot it up and get the game over with. Some of them are not understanding that they are coming off the floor after taking a shot, even if they were open, because he wants them to execute the offense. He knows Molly Heady can score whenever she wants to and that Tasha or Kelli can take over if needed but they have to understand that to win it all you have to be perfect in in your sets and run the hi/low and motion offenses crisply and efficiently. He is being redundant for a reason. Do any of you remember in the movie Hoosiers when the coach told the team five passes before anyone shoots and the one kid starting shooting when open anyway. He got benched even though he was scoring because he was not running the offense as prescribed. That's exactly what is happening with CR now. I hope they know why Coach Rogers is pounding it into their heads and forcing them to run it correctly. He's not holding you down girls he's prepping you for the "run" to come later. Please understand that. Don't get lazy because you don't feel you're getting your touches or being allowed to shoot. Listen to the coach.

Clay County came on the floor a beat team worse game I have seen them play all season. They had turnover after turnover.They could not buy a basket. Free throws missed.

i'm yet to see a consitent 4 quarters of playing, if they could get that to going they will be very hard to beat this year. to beat JC on their home court we are gonna have to step it up probably a notch or two. don't take it wrong i'm not bad mouthing anyone just stating what i'm seeing myself. whats everyone elses thoughts on this ?

Every other game this year, they have been on the bench within 4:00 min. into the game. The bench has logged more minutes than the starters. In one way that is good, they stay fresh and the bench is getting much needed game experience against other teams starters. On the other hand, they sit and cool down, then go back in and the fans expect them to pick right back up where they left off. You don't want your team beating other teams by 60 and 70 pts like RBS did the last year Laken was there, but you also don't want them to spend most of the year on the bench. Lamar is doing his best to balance it out. There is no perfectly formula in this situation. He looks like he is doing a pretty good job with it.

I'm not downing anyone, and i agree its great to see lamar playing his bench and not running up a huge winning score, that shows his class, unlike some other coaches who want to see just how many points they can win by. a win is win rather its 20 plus point or 1 point, all i'm saying is they'll start out really good and seems like everytime they get a little cushion of a lead in points they stop performing like they was when they got that cushion lead, has nothing to do with them being on the bench, yes it may effect but you would think if it was gonna effect the game they would start out cold and get better as the minutes click down. like i said before i am in no way trying to be mean about this i am a die hard fan of CR Ball and have been since the 1983, just can't put my finger on it we play good till we get a good point lead but seem to get too relaxed after that. are the first 5 intentionally doing that so they can stay in and play and not have to sit and watch the bench play :/

I think one of the problems they had could have been back to back games. They could have a little tired.
