Ezell Plays Upperman this week, are they supposed to have anyone returning from last year just some info so i know what to expect.

They have a very good coach in Wright. The program was hurt badly by the previous coach last year by quitting in the middle of the season. It will take Wright some time to turn them around. They should be no match for Ezell this year. :x

Antwan is right! Phillip Wright will bring this program back over the next two years, and you will see some big improvements this season, but I don't know if they will be able to hang with Ezell this week! It will be a good measuring stick for Coach Wright to see just how much progress his team has made since last year.

GOOD LUCK BAXTER! :x

I understand that Wes Shanks went out with a knee injury in the Jamboree. I was told that he tore a ligament that will require surgery. Good luck Wes with your rehab. :D:D

What was Wes' number?

I don't know. I gather from the papers that he was the wideman ( pitch-out) on the play that an official had a chocolate whistle (it must be chocolate because he had to eat it). :D All officials have them in their carrers. It's better to get the embarassment in a scrimage/jamboree than a game situation. :D

It is my understanding that Wes is out due to an ACL injury. I hate that for him and for the Bees. I hear he was going to make a major contribution to Upperman football. I hope he works hard in rehab so he will be ready to hit the hardwood! We always want to face the best they've got!

I have two players out for serious injuries. The boy with the broken collar bone (previously mentioned on another thread) and a big tackle has a problem with his ACL. I understand what these injuries can do to a small squad! I wish him well in his recovery. These types of injuries can be devistating to a young athlete. :o

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
