Oak Hill at Bearden?

Local power playing a National power. Bearden keeps it close early because it's at home but Oak Hill should run away with it. However, I was living in Johnson City the year Science Hill defeated Oak Hill, so anything is possible. On the other hand people forget that the 94 Science Hill team was nationally ranked in the top 10 and during that same season they beat Eau Claire (SC) who had Jermaine O'Neal (NBA), they beat Carlos Boozer (Duke and NBA) and his high school team from Alaska, they also beat Tim Thomas (Villanova and NBA)from Patterson high school (New Jersey). If I'm correct the only loss that Science Hill team had was to Augusta Westside who had Ricky Moore (UConn) and Will Avery (Duke and before he transfered to Oak Hill). For the Bearden fans reading this. Was 1994 the same year Science Hill beat the Bulldogs in the sub-state something like 75-25?

Yeah i heard science hill played powell that year when they had the first conner brother and when powell was a good team and they took it to powell by almost a 100 the final was like 136- 48 or somethin. from what i hear that team was one of the best teams of all time in the tennessee area.

Bearden is a good team but good for Tennessee not good nationally. I mean go to Oak Hills website every player ....literally is being recrutied by top notch D-1 schools and alot of them are juniors! Bearden might keep it close in the first minutes but this will be a 15-20 point game. This will show us Tennessee fans some of the best players in country. I cant wait to go watch it but dont go if you thing its going to be a close game you will be disappointed.

Liberty also played oak hill a couple years ago and lost by like 20. That's when liberty only lost 3 games. One to oak hill, one to a top 5 team nationally from cali, and the other one was to a top team from out of state.

But I have seen oak hill this year in person. They are not as good as years past. The game I seen they didn't have any team work. But they were without there big guy "tiny". Don't know how much of a difference it would have made. But if bearden can play real good team defense and have good teamwork they can keep it close. But oak hill will probably have to many athletes for bearden to pull off the win.

Hey Turtle Bearden and A-E play on January 27th.

Thanks Pal, i'll be in the house for that one... This game could be better then the Oak Hill game.

Seriously though, do you guys think Bearden has what it takes to beat Oak Hill? I mean, I don't see them hanging with them after the tip... I mean, they're going to hang with them during warmups but not during the game /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

In my opinion Bearden can play the best game theyll play all season, i think theyll still lose by 20 +... lets be realistic theyre playing a team where all 5 starters are going big D1, and a team who is playing top 10 nationally ranked teams and beating them by 10 12 points, i dont think theyre gonna have much trouble with the bulldogs.

That is a rumor. You have to buy your tickets at the gate. The game is still 17 days away. Best advice is to get there early if you want a seat

I thought they were moving this game to a bigger gym, like TBA? That's what I heard last year.. But what's the start time of the game and can you get your tickets in advance?

moving the game to tba would hurt Bearden. It would get rid of the ridiculous home court advantage they would have. With their students right on the court. the 120 degree gym. and the 3000 people packed into a gym meant for half that. Unless money is that important to them, they should never consider moving the game.

game time is 7pm according to Oak Hills website.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
