who do you think? going to be a better game than people think. :D

The Bruins could not beat CPA in Jackson last year, and my guess is that USJ is down from last year (although probably still the best in its region) due to some big graduation losses. My guess is that CPA is probably slightly better than they were last year, although it looks like they we be starting a young QB.

I think USJ could win, but I think CPA is probably better. I'll say CPA 24-7.

USJ really had some great players last year with DeLoach, Fay, Payne and Andy Metcalf to name but a few. They are going to be tough shoes to fill, however I'm sure Coach Marley will still build a competitive team.

I will go with 27-14 for CPA.

CPA will find out real quick what kind of team they have- USJ, Ezell-Harding, & Goodpasture the first three weeks.

Is Caleb Meriwether the QB for USJ this year?

CoachT...I believe theQB for USJ will be sophomore Ryan Ross. To let you know who Ryan is, his dad is Neill Ross who played at JCM and UT Martin. Neill`s dad is Coach Ross who used to be head coach at JCM back when they made their state championship appearances in the late 70`s.

Personally I think CPA should win the game. USJ is young and will be playing a lot of new starters. They only have 6 or 7 seniors who were listed on the jamboree roster. But they do have some very good players. CPA shouldn`t overlook them by any means. USJ did defeat Jackson Northside a 4A school in the jamboree. Of course it was just a jamboree though.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
