desperate times call for desperate measures i guess... is anything official???

Not to my knowledge, but the chances of something around this idea seems good.

It makes sense to me. Might as well try go to single elimination and get all the games in as soon as possible.

I think we would all hate to see two teams move on without even playing a game.

Mixed emotions. On the one hand, winning the regular season should mean something and I don't have a problem with the winner getting an automatic bid and saving their pitching to make a run in regions. In that scenario, you should start the district tournament on Thursday and play every day including weekends until you're finished. The worst thing that happens is you get done early and your district representatives get to practice some and rest some arms. It's a built in contigency plan.

Starting on Friday, taking the weekend off and no sense of urgency puts you in the situation where an emergency plan has to be put in place to get ANY tournament games played. Now we're looking at how we can do the most in the least amount of time, which doesn't make for sending our best representative.

Single elimination doesn't send the best team most of the time. It sends the team with the best #1. But it's whatever now. It is what it is and the rain would have gotten us either way. Now we're in a position to just get through it and move on. I think TSSAA should move regions back a day or two, but I don't see that happening either.

KS we should just let you be in charge of all of the scheduling of games, tournaments, scheduling game times, concession prices, gate prices, etc.

I like your info, but give it a rest. The people who make these decisions are doing the best they can. Don't you think?

It wouldn't pay enough dude. If I'm doing it for the notoriety, I'd rather be on the TSSAA Board of Control! /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> In my line of work, I'd get fired (or sued) if I didn't think ahead a little towards the worst case scenario. It's a habit. A little bit of planning goes a long way. I mean, were we really prepared to put off post season baseball for prom? If you don't say anything, everybody thinks it must be just fine. I think there are some dedicated coaches doing everything they can to promote their sport and put the best foot forward for this district. I imagine the same applies at TSSAA, but you wouldn't know by the way they go about their business sometimes. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

I just got the word. Single elimination tournament starting Tuesday (maybe).

As you know we all have to stay healthy. Proud Alexander and Micah are going to play together at Bethel. They were really fun to watch at the All Star game in Murfreesboro. They have real good chemistry together on the floor.
    • Baxter will do what they most always do.....at a minimum produce at least 9 Ws and run into at least the 2nd round.....Booger actually enjoyed seein them in the Gold Ball contest last season.... Booger just sayin
