the first round is, but the second round is seeding for the sectionals if i remember right.

The districts vote on their tournament format, the regions have one elimination round at the beginning and a seeding round at the end, sectionals is an elimination round and state is a double elimination tournament.

Predictions for tonight?

Sycamore over Fairview.

Waverly over Harpeth only if Purcell is on the bump and is in full form.

Creekwood over Cheatham.

And MC over SC.

this year the district has been competitive at the top, but the bottom 3 teams are terrible so it is hard to pick an upset.

 

with pieratt not pitching, purcell not at full strength, cheatham and fairview are just plain bad, i dont see any one pulling an upset.

 

you could say with the recent history that Sycamore may be content on already being in the region and come out flat, but even if that happens fairview is not going to beat them. harpeth and waverly should throw their best since it is now single elimination and would not have much left for the sycamore game. sycamore wins their side.

 

the interesting thing will be who MC and CW pitch. Both should have rather easy games tonight, and then have to play an elimination game tomorrow (weather permitting). With Mills on the hill, i have to say MC comes out of this side of the brakcet if they save him for tomorrow.

 

i see sycamore beating MC in the championship game due to their depth of pitching and hitting.

IF Mc and Cw meet tommorow. My guess is it will be Hooper vs Mills on the bump for each team. Mills gave up 1 run to cw. and Hooper threw a shutout. so it sets up for a great game and probally a pitchers duel.
