wildcatfan, I would seriously hope you aren't trying to attack my post as I think you are. She is a dominant scorer, holding her to less than 25, is pretty dang good. You sound like a true fan. Intensity and belief will take you ANYwhere. Ask Wilson Cates, fan.

 

 

Attack you? Not attacking you! Was merely stating my opinion. I am also a realist and I was just saying that I wouldn't go as far as to say that we can beat anyone by beating a decent at best Smith County team by 8 points. And I feel like that we was somewhat fortunate to win the game. Glad we did. What does Wilson Cates have to do with any of this.

Intensity, and belief, in 2005, helped let that team, beat ANYbody. Im telling you, it can. Simply. I can name numerous examples.

 

 

But the intensity, belief, heart, etc. of these girls is not in question. I never questioned any of that. I merely said that we were fortunate to win the game and that I wouldn't necessarily get all geeked out about the win. We let 2 girls from Smith County score 40 points out of 56. Unacceptable if we want to make a run in the postseason. In other words, I still think we can play better!

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
