What are some big games this week for 7AAA teams and who do you all think will win?

Riverdale plays the following games this week:

vs Dickson County Tuesday

vs Trinidad and Tobago Wed (Not really Riverdale but US team)

vs Warren County Thursday

vs White County Saturday

Don't know who will win but Riverdale will be ready to play.

Cookeville 4-1 White County

Pretty good game from what I could see. 2-1 with about 5-7 minutes left, White County was pressing down left flank well. Cookeville countered though, got a shot off a corner kick play that bounced in between the keeper and the post; GK should have been against the post better. Cookeville got a pk within the last couple minutes to wrap it up.

I was impressed with the game overall. White County seems vastly improved. I think Cookeville was caught off guard, after years of White County being their doormat.

Prediction: White County won't finish last in the district this year.

From a sideline perspective, both of the penalties were questionable at best. In White County's case, it made the game a lot closer for awhile. All in all, I thought Cookeville played pretty well considering the field conditions, controlling most of the possession and having some nice combination play, and White County definitely has some skill and smarts. They will turn some heads.

Also, I don't think White County's GK should be at fault for the goal off the corner kick; Cookeville's forward absolutely blasted that ball, and unfortunately it caromed into the net. It very easily could have bounced out of play.

    • I have no issues with the Karns Middle School program.   Good coaches and he's with the kids he goes to school with.  He's a rising 6th grader who had to play with 6th grade kids last year because Karns didn't have enough kids for a 5th grade age team.  He's in a good place at this point.   My daughter is a single mom with 4 kids under 11 years old.  We help her out with logistics, so staying in our own area right now is important.  Once he gets to high school age, who knows what happens?  That bridge will be crossed when we get there.
    • I know he was a backup but I thought he filled in well when the starter went down. Never a bad thing to have a change of pace back
    • That would be a good get for them. Lowe always finds a way. Pretty sure they have their Rb from last year returning but not that line of beef
    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
