GCPioneer
anyone in AA shoudl be concerned about facing Gibson County Why Gibson Co.? /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" We're only 26-0 and flying under the radar... I kind of like it this way really, lol... We have a good team this year. I just hope we fare alot better this year than we did last year if we are to make it to state. BigDaddy_1
Wait a minute...GCP talked all last summer after the transfer of Reedy that GC would win the state. And now you are saying it..They are not flying under the radar either..just on here only because GC fans are saying very little about it. Most that about girls BB kno who GC is and how good their program is.
GCPioneer
Ah, c'mon now....gimme a break!!! lol that was last Summer... I'm just messing around. We have a very solid team this year, but I've also kept in mind the year we went 31-0 heading into the state tournaments and got bounced in the first round by Livingston. I just don't want to see anything like that this year. I've seen Marshall Co. play this year and I honestly still believe they need the bullseye on their back. They're a very good team and led by a great player in Lauren March. They have great roll players to go along with her. Marshall Co. will be very tough to beat for sure! BigDaddy_1
You may be right about Marshall..But I think McMinn, Upperman, Gibson are all right there. And by the looks of scores, Westview may be right there too.
unknown
i think my friend gcp will agree on this westview is not up their with upperman gc and mc gc should have beat them by 20 the last time they played thats the only prob i see with gc is that they dont know how to put people away
GCPioneer
Ok unknown, I won't agree with you... Westview is a very good ball team. If Westview would've had their starting PG in BB Brooks (who is done for season with broken leg), Westview probably would've beat us atleast once. Westview has probably one of the most dangerous shooting threats in the state in Amber Rechis. Sarah Olds and Grace Ann are good roll players as well! The only thing with Westview is that they play alot of younger players, Freshman and Sophomores. Gibson Co. has a great Freshman class and only 1 Freshman (Courtney Haynes) gets alot of playing time in with the varsity and she's started several games this year. The last time GC and Westview met, we lead the whole game. We got up by as many as 12-13 and Westview came back. Westview and GC will always be a close matchup for awhile. Both have great players and it's starting to become an every year rivalry! I think Westview will make it to state, but I won't be surprised if OC is to make it. Okay GC, don't put the bullseye on us!! lol Remember, Gibson and, McMinn, have returned all of their players from last year. After last year we lost 3 major players that were starters, heck, with only 2 starters from last year team there is no way the bullseye should be on Marshall. I am putting the bulleye on Gibson and McMinn Central. All jokes aside, Marshall is taking one game at a time, not taking anyone for granted. It will be a blessing to get to the Boro because there is still a lot of folks that don't believe these young ladies can make it to the elite 8. oldskool33
/flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> Marshall County Tigerettes are the defending 2008 AA State Champions. Will they bring home the gold ball, that remains to be seen. As far as Loretto and Lewis County, they always seem to bring their A game against Marshall County when they play Marshall County on their home court. Great teams have off nights - no team plays a perfect game all season. The Tigerettes are a very good basketball team and a lot more athletic than last year. They return 2 players that were all State in 2007 and in 2008 as Sophmores. They also have a team where on any given night, any player can step up and be the leading scorer. Lauren is an awesome player but don't forget that offense and defense win ball games. Each player on the team brings something to the table - great offense, the three point shot, and superior defense. Remember, this was the team that most people believed wouldn't do anything this year - yet they stand 26-0 at the moment, having played some of the best teams in the State of Tennessee. This is an awesome acomplishment for a great group of hardworking young ladies. I can guarantee that as District and Region play heats up - the Tigerettes will show up - they have a great coach in Coach West and his supporting staff and Lauren March, Ne Ne McLean, Artavia Bryant , and Jakerra Simmons and the rest of the supporting cast will play some of the best basketball that they have ever played and they will play hard until the end of each game. The target is on their back, but up to this point, they have proven that they control their own destiny. I am sure that they are taking one game at a time and focusing on one team at a time. Anyone who has seen them play this year will agree that they play team ball and they have an intensity that doesn't quit until the final buzzer. At this stage of the game, no one knows who is going to Murfreesboro - just as it has been in the past - by State Tournament time, some of the best teams will be either watching someone else play or watching it on TV because they got over confident and think that they are invincible. Best of luck to all the teams - Marshall County Tigerettes keep playing your game ,take one game at a time, believe in yourselves, each other and keep your eyes on the prize!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> AMEN!!! bballbaby, couldn't have said it better myself. GO TIGERETTES!!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
