Just wanted to see what people were thinking. I haven't seen Briarcrest Just keep hearing good things about them.

I heard that the Mcdonald kid is the real deal and the Johnny williams is a stud. I think Liberty by 7

Briarcrest comes in well balanced and well coached. Williams is the real deal and McDonald can take over and put up some real highlights. Wooten, the pg, is real solid with nice size. Liberty should be the favorite because they can really shoot it at home, but Briarcrest has played tough comp all over the U.S. this year so they won't be fazed at all come Saturday. This game will be a real test for both teams and a treat for fans to watch. A couple of future college players will be on that floor.

Briarcrest is a solid half court team but don't think they have the speed as a team as Liberty. It will come down to tempo control.

Both are a handful in their comfort zone.I personally think Liberty is the favorite, being at home along with one of the best coaches in the state.

Leslie a is big time player and he alone is worth the price of admission though!

How good is the Greg Wooten kid.

I have only seen him once.

Very good...in my opinion (D1 for sure). How high I have no idea. I heard SMU (CUSA) has been watching him as of late. Not sure how true that is though. I certainly think he could play for just about anybody in CUSA with the excpetion of Memphis. Just my opinion....could be wrong.

Briarcrest won by ten, 64-54.

Liberty made 13 three-pointers. Out of their 32 second-half points, 30 of them came from behind the arc.

Briarcrest dominated the inside. Leslie McDonald had 22 points, including two highlight dunks, and 12 rebounds. Johnny Williams had 20 points. Gregg Wooten played his usual game and finished with about ten. Freshman wing DeMarc Richardson finished with eight rebounds and six assists.

    • Good thing we aren’t in Florida then huh? It would benefit a ton of the smaller schools  that don’t have the pools of kids to choose from! They should start by policing Shelby County like they do the rest of the state! Something has to change though and TSSAA knows that!
    • Correct, you can whimsically be fired in coaching. A coach that has tenure can stay on as a teacher if released from coaching. If you don’t have tenure as a teacher, you can fired without cause. Your last year as a teacher before tenure is earned you can be fired, but must be given cause. A tenured teacher can be fired, but it is a long hard process requiring the 3 D’s…. documentation, documentation and documentation. I have released 3 tenured teachers, 2 with PHD’s. However, teacher contracts had and still have clauses that state you can be fired for a variety reasons re: being arrested, public drunkenness, inappropriate relationships ect.
    • Hopefully you’re not signing off for good. There are a lot of Oak Ridge fans that appreciate your comments.
    • Florida tried urban/rural split two years ago. 4 urban classes, 4 rural classes. Didn’t work. Next year they will have 7 regular classes, 1 urban class for small schools only.
