You are probably right. Not sure though. Have to do some looking up of stats. They are truly great athletes and its been fun to watch.

I believe that they are the winningest group... So far...

This group is 102-25 (i think). They lost 18 of those in their first 2 years. So, if you think about it... That leaves the door wide open for the freshmen or sophmore group to top it.

Great game. Lots of weird calls. LA student section was the best in years! In these types of games, true colors show through......meaning......not very classy of the Upperman girls basketball players to use the profanity they used on the front row of Upperman's student section. Really. Was all that necessary? Get into the game. Yell. Cheer. Be as classy after the game as you seem to be during your game. Upperman girls have a great team, but that looks bad on not only the girls players but the coach as well. I'm sure she wouldn't approve. And why did that girls player keep pulling her shirt to show the Upperman name after the boys game was over????? Everyone knew who was playing tonight...Upperman girls won and LA boys won. Glad LA girls didn't act like that. Like I said before....true colors??? Like I said. Upperman girls are awesome. But that behavior is......tacky?

Man what a game. Both teams left it on the court tonight. I'll have to say that the refs let em play, but just about let it get out of hand a couple of times.

I won't make but one comment about the refs and I thought they had a hard job tonight. That was a real physical and fast paced game to officiate considering all that was riding on the outcome. I just thought that there was to much inconsistency by the refs. Starting the 4th the foul count was LA 10 Upperman 2. Going into overtime it was about dead even. And it was like that in both games and both halves. And there were several bad calls but the one that fouled Ramsay out tops em all. That was simply one the worst that I have ever seen.

Our Free Throws hurt us tonight or we might have won the game in regulation by 8 to 10 points. Dunn I thought had an off night shooting and still ripped em for 26. Great game Chase. Clint West stepped up and make some big big shots when we needed them. And what can I say you played twice as hard on the other end. Peterman ,Smith, and Jackson played great on the inside. I was really impressed with Jackson and the way he got in there and scrapped around on the boards. Great job Brad. Devon Ramsay if you play like you did tonight the rest of the way, LA will go a long long way this season. Great game Devon.

I believe these 2 teams will see each other 2 and maybe 3 times before the season is over. And I hope I get to watch every one of them. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Very tacky indeed.

some of you la fans are the biggest cry babies and complainers. all you do is make excuses. yeah we won, but we would have won by 30 if the refs weren't terrible, oh shut up!! you guys won the game because you played better. and quit picking the upperman girls out of the crowd and calling them out. watch the game morons. you noticed how all there is on here is la fans. is this all you have to do is down grade other teams. grow up and be proud of your team, if they are so good quit making excuses for why they barely beat upperman. in my opinion they barely beat upperman because they are no better than upperman. i take upperman any day on a neutral court. and if some of you la fans were honest with yourself, you might be leaning that way as well.

Talk about showing true colors. Prime example here^ by BEEFAN23. Not very classy on his part either. I think the simple statement that "the refs were horrible", is not an excuse for WINNING!. I don't think Upperman could beat LA by 30 if LA had to shoot left handed, I mean are you kiddin me? Check the foul count, and then come talk to me about the refs being horrible.

Beefan. Come on. No one from LA did any name calling toward Upperman. I think everyone agrees they are very good. You call people from LA morons. That's cool I guess. I think these people were watching the game. They've given several examples that prove they did. But thanks for giving us the reason those girls acted that way. People like you take up for them. IT'S NOT A BIG DEAL HOW YOUR GIRLS ACTED. Just wondering why they would show out like that. Then you take up for them. I guess that answers the question as to why they might behave that way.

More importantly. Great game by Upperman. Very good team. I'd say those close to the LA program can't wait to get another shot at you. Neutral court. Great. Can't wait! I think anyone can tell from LA's crowd, student section, and more importantly.....COACH AND PLAYERS, no fear here.

From what I've read, there have been some good points made here. LA let a double digit lead slip in the second. LA missed 9-10 free throws. Dunn didn't shoot well on his way to 27. LA had 2 foul out in regulation and were called for 5 charges. Questionable offensive foul on Dunn with 30 sec left in regulation. 4 over the back calls on LA? This blames nothing on refs. Just a few reasons why this game shouldn't have gone to overtime. But LA stepped up when necessary. Great job LA!

..................quit picking the upperman girls out of the crowd .......... i take upperman any day on a neutral court.

No one had to pick them out of the crowd. They made sure they were seen by being on the playing court many times - during the boys game - often yelling in the ears of the LA players inbounding the ball.! I love enthusiastic fans. However, the vulgar gestures - most of us could have done without. Pretty good show, though, for teenage boys to watch.

Neutral court??? Don't go there. You might feel confident on a neutral court. I'm not sure the Bee's coaching staff does. If they did, why not ask to move the Region to Tech? My understanding is that they are the only ones saying leave it at UHS.

First of all.... i was right beside upperman's student section and there was no profanity being yelled. FACT. Second, the upperman girl that was holding her shirt showing upperman was prolly p*ssed off that she got a ball threw at her head from LA's "high class" student section. Classy. Oh and even classier was when LA student pushed Taylor 2 feet. He should have been ejected from the game for putting his hands on a player. Upperman and LA student section was going back and forth with each other the whole game but its funny to me that you didn't see any of LA's "low class " behavior. Third, as for the difference in the fouls did you ever stop and think that LA fouled more than upperman did but I guess it easier to think that the refs were playing favorites. I mean you LA fans have got to come up with some excuse that your precious "Hog-eyes" came so close to getting their a** stomped again... I mean you have blown ever since then that it was a fluke and LA is so much better. LA came out with an attitude and they were fouling. Actually they fouled alot more than what was called so stop blaming the refs. Why not for once give Upperman the credit they deserve. Oh and last thing as for Bobby cuddling the refs - Dunn needed to get a room with the ref he was cuddling.

ok your first of all statement is a lie that is a fact your second so called fact is a lie as well she started making a goof of herself long before those balls the cheerleaders threw out came and never did a ball go flying through the air to hit her they are foam! and the only one that left the student section was the one that rolled on the floor on the inbound play! there's you a fact! and you said taylor was pushed 2 feet ... i was front row on the floor of the student section and i think you are referring to when he fell into the crowd and i guess you claim after he fell he was pushed.... grow up you actually think that i believe that about as much as i believe taylor didnt mean to cut dunn's legs out from under him at upperman give me a break.

you say stop blamming the refs ......read in your post it says actually they fouled alot more than what was called so stop blaming the refs.... listen the refs in a game will always be the bad guy ok they will always make some bad calls for both teams and teams will be upset when it doesn't go their way .... upperman was on the refs to i cant tell you how many time they would be begging for a T and if they didnt get a call they would boo.. it is natural to be that way at a ball game do you disagree

you also say to lay off bobby and tell dunn to get a room with the refs .... never once did dunn walk up to the ref trying to give his take on a play infact the one time a ref and dunn talked was when some upperman kid threw an elbow and dunn didnt like it never once did he beg for a call ... never once did melton come out on the court for a ref just his players pointing them out when the player theirself did wrong never once did he beg for a call .... did you notice on that last charge called on dunn haha bobby threw up a charge sign before the ref!

listen pal here is my take on the whole game.... it has transformed into a humongous rivalry agree?

and you will have to admit that if #10 wouldnt have nailed what 7 treys? that game would have been much worse .... i dont keep up with upperman much but what i have i do know that south paw does not usually get hot like that like ever.... LA shut down nash and did a very good job on baxter so you remark a** stomping is very untrue and for that matter very low class in the comment itself

i dont believe however all of us as people are low class because of a heated ball game i just believe that is a true statement of rivalry and should recognize that today is saturday and the game is in the past now ... be looking forward to district finals guys

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
