Nevermind...just saw on Eurosport that I got my dates mixed up. Does anyone have any other details on this game. No offense, Easttnref, but I know you are from Seymour, and home fans always tend to see it differently. (I know I always think that our team had the better outing in a 1-1 tie).

Also, as far as the Catholic comment about Spencer Payne goes--shame on whomever wrote this post. Losing to Farragut--even getting pounded by Farragut--is nothing to hold your head down about. Furthermore, I am SURE that Catholic will get it together and be a top state contender down the road. In my mind, the only thing that could keep them from being a top contender is continuing to throw useless tantrums after a loss to such a high quality side like Farragut.

Well I am pretty honest. The teams had two completely different styles Hardin Valley played very direct using a long ball most of the game. Seymour on the other hand, moved the ball around the pitch using mostly wall passes and overlapping run on the wings to get good penetration. Lots of balls played in the box just not anyone getting anything quality on the end of them. I would say possession was 60 to 40 Seymour. HVA matched up better with Sevier County than Seymour because Seymour played better team defense and was just more organized than Sevier County( In SC's defense most of the goals scored by HVA were against their JV). In the Sevier County HVA game both teams played the same direct style opening the game up more which I am sure must be both teams strategy (Which is sad because it is not good soccer and both of these teams have the talent to play good one-two touch soccer).

Not good soccer?! Bearden has won umphteen state championships by playing long ball. Haha...I agree with you though. I guess different teams have different styles. Also, looking back on my last post, I got the impression that you might have thought my post was a little snide. I was just trying to get a different perspective, and I was considering that I often give a biased point of view when it comes to my team. Thanks for not taking offense to it and for simply giving a more detailed answer as to why Seymour had the better showing.

    • And that needs to go, Charter ,private ,magnet, city and any school that operates differently than pure public schools should be separated. What really needs to be done is address urban and rural. About all the usual powers have access to several kids from other schools period.
    • Sad deal. Hate it. So the coach that kicked her off is now fired??
    • Slightly off topic from a gender standpoint but just observed several boys volleyball games in the Knoxville area for a short spring season. The guys seemed to have a great time. There were several club players on each team but several football, basketball and tennis players involved. Knoxville Catholic, Maryville, Heritage, Knoxville West maybe William Blount had teams. Thanks to Coach Brent Carter from Knoxville Catholic/K2 for getting it together. I’m sure the coaches involved got several laughs trying to coach guys that really had no idea what they were talking about but pretty athletic and competitive. Catholic’s best basketball player told the coach he had played a lot of 2:3 and 1:3:1 but never a 3:3 LOL Maybe it will catch on with some more schools next year.
