coachh17
Great memory CycloneFan! I was a little off, but will still take the 3 regular season titles, 3 District Championships, 4 Regional titles, 5 sub-state appearances, and the State Tournament trip. South Greene leaves the district after this year, so Elizabethton and Unicoi Co. will have to see if they can continue their District 1 dominance. dodgerdude
It's a shame that South Greene moves to district 2 next year. These last few years have had some great district games between SG, Betsy, and Unicoi. Oh well, hopefully now the South Greene-Greeneville rivalry will really pick up with them being in the same district now.
supertoe
With the new Three Rivers Conference being formed, Elizabethton and Unicoi should be able to be the 1-2 punch...Happy Valley, Johnson County, Sullivan North, and newcomer Sullivan East will likely be playing for spots 3-6....The South Greene rivalry that has taken place for the past 3 years will have to hold off til Regionals unless of course these teams schedule a regular season game.... imavol10
As everyone has noted, the game last night was exceptonal. Both teams played good and both teams played with a lot of heart. I hope they meet again next Wednesday. THe game came down to EHS missing free throws and SG making theirs. Elizabethton went 13-28 from the stripe and I recall that SG only missed about six or seven. Big time players make big plays in key times. And when the pressure was on, EHS crumbled. But we are getting closer. If Powell and Pietrowski could play full games w/o foul trouble, look out Rebels. The UC CD game was also really good. Also came down to foul situations. Good luck to all our ladies. Represent our area well, girls! GO CYCLONES!! I agree with you on the Lynn Dugger comment, he is one of the best Girl coaches i've seen and watched. Not everyone can coach girls as they react to challeges in differently each time. To me it takes a better coach for girls than it does with the boys! Hopefully he'll be with the girls for the next few years, eventually he'll move into the Boys coaching position if something should change there. Hats off to him!
