Any thoughts on this game.What does Blackman have. /motorbike.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":motorbike:" border="0" alt="motorbike.gif" />

When u look at Blackmans schedule they are a tough team to figure out. The beat Riverdale on Jan 6 and then lost to them by 43 in Feb. They seem to be up and down. If the Lady Cats play like they did in District Tournament they should do great in the Region. Go get em Cats!!!

Don't let the idea of Blackman finishing 4th in 7AAA fool you. They have a good team.

Blackman was hot early in the season but has fallen on hard times the last 2 or 3 weeks. They seemed to peak early in the year. They have a very good guard in Shelby Campbell. She consistently plays well every game. There are several others that have good games and then disappear. Katie Smith (6' 1" post) has been our best inside threat. Tierra Norris has good games and bad games (Has a tendency to get in foul trouble). Other good players are T'Anna Overton, Kelsey Nowlin, and Lauren Dorsett. For Blackman to have a chance to win, Shelby, Katie or Tierra, and T'Anna or Kelsey must step up and have good games.

Even with Shelbyville being down a little bit this year,Lawrenceburg has shown quality play this year as has Lincoln county. There is a great deal of respect for District8 in 7AAA. Blackman is a tough team to figure out and some in 7AAA recognize it but as cold as they have been lately, Coach CH can get them back to where they were very quickly. IMO, this school is going thru some growing pains as far as Tournament Time Pressure and have now seen what it is about. If they jell and start playing as they were, they will be in contention for the top two in the region. IMO, the pieces seem to be falling in place and getting the focus right for the team is the only thing that is missing. I would hate to play them on a hot night.

i think Blaze might agree. Coach Chad is developing a program at Blackman and the players mentioned may have started a trend to make Blackman go higher but the position Blackman has taken as far a middle School Players are concerned, gives one a feeling that this program is for real and Blackman is serious about it. he now needs to start finding Big Posts to really make it work and Katie Smith and others may be the ones to make that work. This is not unlike the other Boro Schools. All six of them are really serious and teach very well and have high level coaches. Certainly keeping District 8 from coming in and getting all of the great assistant coaches in this District would help move things along a bit but Lawrence knows about that.

Blackman plays in what is aguably one of the toughest districts in the state. Lawrence County is very talented with young players. The best still may be yet to come. The homecourt advantage of Lawrence County in Pralph Benson memorial Gym is huge.I say LawCo wins in a tighter than expected one.

After going in to Lawrence County Gymnasium before with a very good Team and coming out a loser, Iunderstand the value that LC has in being a home team and say that Blackman will have to revert back to its play earlier to have a chance in this matchup. CH has had a way of of putting a stop defensively on good teams. Blackman's execution, as was posted, has not been good against lately against schools they have played over and over and over. And some of the Schools they have been playing, IMO, are extremely good and for reasons, are as focused as they can be. Advantage Lawrence County at Home but will have to play very good. Its good for them they are not playing in the second round against Blackman.

IMO, there are possibilities for upsets but after Thursday's games, the seeds will be in tact. The games at Blackman Saturday will be some of the best Regional matchups in years because all four schools now face motivation factors and incentives they have had but specific individuals on the teams have a lot to prove individually and can have a way to carry their schools. These schools have some very good players and that is with an S, and can step up.

I will have a projection Friday on Saturday's matchups and why.
