Well, this will be the last time these 2 districts will get together. I've enjoyed some of the disagreements with some of the posters over the past few years /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> . I hope everyone who is taking the long road trips has a safe one.

Let's hear some predictions. Here are mine.

Harpeth over Camden by 8

McNairy over Waverly by 12

Southside over Cheatham by 5

Bolivar over Sycamore by 18

Harpeth and Camden game will be closer than you think, Camden can score and Harpeth better keep the score below 50 or they are in trouble. I think Harpeth by 3 and if they were not playing at home, Camden would win

Southside by 7 over Cheatham, they are big and strong and want revenge after losing there last year

McNairy by 16 over Waverly. McNairy's defense and inside game will be too much

Bolivar over Sycamore by as much as they want

Bolivar/Southside game will be great and McNairy will beat Harpeth

Bolivar beat Sycamore by 11 I believe in OT. Sycamore hit a 3 that had the Bolivar fans in an uproar as the buzzer sounded to send it into OT. Because of a fan infront of me, I don't know if the the Sycamore girl's foot was on the line or she didn't get the ball off in time. I saw Rudesill jump up, and Sycamore cheering. But Bolivar hit freethrows down the stretch to win.

Waverly led 11-6 at the end of the 1st after McNairy started out up 4-0. McNairy led by 2 or 3 points at the half. McNairy led by as many as 7 in the 2nd half and Waverly tied the game a couple of times in the 2nd half. Each team had a ton of turnovers. Probably the most walks I've saw called in a game and a ton that did not get called.

What was the refs like in the other games? They were really bad in this game. They were the worst I have seen so far this year and we have some bad ones in our district.

Anybody know the Camden/Harpeth score?

Yes, the officiating was terrible. They let the girls play for three quarters. And since they let both teams do it, then I didn't have a problem with it. Waverly led most of the first half leading by as many as 5. McNairy's largest lead was 7 but only once and Waverly cut it to two in a matter of 30 seconds. The problem I have with the officiating is the very very bogus call at the end where a charge was called on Prince when it was very clear the McNairy girl slid over in front of her. The basket was wiped off and with the proper call it would have been an and one, making it a one point game with 12 seconds to go. MC was fouled after that, missed the free throw, which would have given Waverly a chance to win at the end. The referees let MC foul and Waverly was whistled for a lot of fouls in the fourth. Sad, but typical of West Tennessee officiating. Let the girls settle it on the court. It wasn't all the officials, just the bald headed one.

Having said that, McNairy does have a decent team, but Waverly is just as good. And Waverly has 10 freshmen and sophomores on the team. I call the games for the local radio and I would say that the school officials made us feel very welcome and we appreciate it. And the fans were great too. I really like the MC gym. Good luck on the new floor.

So much for your prediction of dominance by McNairy. This was a very very close game and could have been easily won by the very young Tigerettes. McNairy better find some outside shooting or Monday will be their last game.

The refs had it easy for the 3 quarters in the Bolivar/Sycamore game. Both teams played zone defense and settled for outside shots. No press defense or post play. Easy game to officiate until the 4th quarter and overtime. Some questionable calls late, but not bad overall.

Not a very good game, BTW. But it is the playoffs and survive and advance is the goal at this point.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
