Rico
Someone tell jesse smithey there is a sport that plays during spring. Why does the coverage of baseball stink so bad in Knoxville. Is it better in other cities? We can't even get a season preview. The news sentinel stinks!
Plowboy Deluxe
The Kingsport Times News had a small article today. Coaches poll , small bit on the teams. Tricitiessports.com typically has a good write up for whole upper east Tennessee area but nothing so far. The seem to have been in decline since the start of their paid subscription. The Knoxville News Sentinel is a joke when ot comes to high school baseball. There more into soccer and lady vols softball or West Knoxville schools. I will never subscribe to tg the NS

yankees
Well it looks like Jesse Smithey is going to build up Farragut and Bearden all year again. Thats why I dont subscribe to the Knox News Sentinel. If they had accomplished what Fulton has in there football and basketball programs we would still be reading about and know the names of the players. He must live in West Knoxville. Remenber the East side too.
ihavenofriendzz
The KNS is no different than any other paper. It follows the people who are good, and the teams located where the people are. Have you ever watched ESPN? That's all it is. We care about where the people are and who, with the exception of Notre Dame, the best teams are. If they don't have a huge population in the city, fan base, or successful, then they don't get covered. It's as simple as that. Also, if you live in the Fulton area, and don't subscribe, maybe thats why they don't cover you? They see that no one in that area subscribes, why should they cover it? So the people who don't care about Fulton in West Knoxville can read all about their unsuccessful spring sports? No. that makes no sense. Fulton, when they were winning in football and basketball, got plenty of coverage. Maybe the fact that you don't subscribe is why you don't know this? Atleast they get most of the boxscores in the paper. They don't even need to do that.
yankees
I dont live in the Fulton area and east Knoxville problally have more subscribers than West Knoxville. Your comments do not make any sense. The paper is a knoxville paper not a Farragut paper. The KNS is no different than any other paper. ihavenofriendzz
No one said it was a Farragut paper. It is about common sense, which apparently you have none. The paper will cover the teams that are successful. Fulton= not successful in spring sports. What's the point of covering them? The only people who care about them are the parents and they are probably at most of the games anyways. And my comments make perfect sense. All news papers and news coverage is the same. They cover the successful teams, and the biggest areas/fan base. Fulton= small school, unsuccessful. Farragut or Bearden= Largest schools in large areas, and successful. hmm? Which makes more sense to cover? Small and unsuccessful or large and successful?

Just look at where the population of Knoxville is and that has a direct correlation to subscibers.
yankees
Your funny, Fulton has a much successful sports program in football and basketball. Farragat still got more press in football and basketball. No one said it was a Farragut paper. It is about common sense, which apparently you have none.
