Hey guys you have to win 3 games why does it matter in what order they are to be the best you gotta beat the best, TIP IT UP, LETS PLAY !!!!!!!!!!!!

Lets just play out some scenarios real quick just hypothetical situations, nobody get jumpy. Lets say Manassass beats Humboldt on a last second shot by buckner in double ot 85-84. They play Grace Baptist and beat them by 5 in a well fought game, Temple runs through the bottom of the bracket without breaking a sweat, and then (still hypothetical) Manassas beat Temple by 30 in the Finals. How can you say that the order does not matter? That would be an example of how the top of the bracket is stopped and one of the other two (Grace Or Humboldt) should have been on the other side. Like I said already let UCONN and Carolina play in the first round of the tourney, its still the same right, no order matters. Just observing....

Well all the talk of Humbolt and Manassas and th eluck of a blind draw puts them in against each other in the first round and on the opposite side of the bracket from Summertown. The lower half looks to be wide open, though I would agree that Temple would probably be the favorite there. Maybe my beloved Eagles can get some good fortune and slip into the finals. Gotta love their chances--and who knows, with that defense, could they pull off an improbable state title?

I agree somewhat with you, but no matter hows you seed teams or draw, somebody is not going to be happy, every team gos to the BORO planning on winning 3 games anyway, so lets just play it out i cant wait to see Manassass and Humboldt play , we are getting a treat, they play first and winner will WIN State.

Oh I understand that you cant make everyone happy, just being realistic about it. Lets not get ahead of ourselves about winner being the champs, but they will be heavily favored. No disrespect to the other teams, but I know for a fact that Lake Co still deserves some respect and I hate it that we cant have like a 16 team tourney cause they would have a great chance of winning the bottom part of the bracket.

I know what everyone from the West thinks about it, but I want to hear from the other teams in what they think about the Humboldt/Manassas game first round. And please look at it from a realistic non-biased view. How do you see the game being played out and winners and who you would like to play?

Are they as good as some of the West Tenn teams that didn't make it up there? No.

But to that they don't deserve to be there is wrong. They had the same requirements to get up there as everbody else, beat the teams in your district, region, and sub state. Can they help it that thier part of the state is weaker? No. So don't belittle them because of something they can't control.

With all that being said, they probably lose by a pretty good margin....

(from Grace Baptist) I think it's kind of a shame. I have to admit I hope Temple gets beaten early on. It's not that I don't love my neighbor--I just can't stand it if they win this way.

Thanks. So I know we cant change the draw but just for fun how do you think they sould set the bracket? Let the coaches, TSSAA officials, and some media vote on it or what?

There is no good way to order the teams where everyone will be happy. Because most of these teams do not play each other during the season and do not play similar teams, the blind draw is the most fair way to do it. The only other thing that I think they could do is make sure that teams from adjoining regions do not play each other in the first round, like Manassas and Humboldt. To do it any other way allows way too much speculation and personal interest to become involved.

There are no bad teams in the bracket. As far as standings go Temple certainly did land in the easier side of the bracket but every team still has to bounce the ball down the court and put it in the basket and try to keep the other team from doing the same.

I may be mistaken, but I believe one year, Temple went to the state with an undefeated record or one loss, was ranked #1 or #2 in the state and was put out in the first round. One year, Temple was the underdog, the weaker team in the tournament, and beat a very good Ezell team for the title. It is anyone's game.
