That's the usual (and sensible) concensus for school type issues. There are some areas where it's best to respect privacy, and this is one.

Speaking generally, the current headmaster is more forgiving than most of his predecessors. MBA's attrition now is around 6%, whereas in previous times, it held steady at about 25% over the six year haul. Of course, it could be that the kids now are smarter that they were in myday.

Just curious, but do you like that they are a little more lenient now? I know BGA is easier overall and more lax on rules than when my dad graduated in 88; and he wishes that it was more the same when I was there as when he was there.

At the risk of being shouted at for being off topic, no, I'm not altogether pleased at the leniency that has been shown in some cases of which I'm aware. And let's be clear that I know nothing of Mr. Nutkis' case, and am addressing incidents from a year to two years ago. In one of these, the football team clearly benefitted from a show of leniency.

Still, I adhere to the rather quaint notion that you go to school for an education, and athletics are a nice additional activity for those who are doing acceptably in all other areas of school. MBA's success in football pleases me immensely (and not just the varsity, I look in on the 7th grade results as well, not as any indicator of future potential, just because I have an interest in MBA football.) But the bottom line is that I don't want to see anything devalue my diploma from there.

    • I have no clue if Derek tried to talk some since into his dad or not about staying here. All he is going to accomplish is going from the oven to the frying pan. If I were the coach all Ale would freze over before I set back and watched one of my good players leave without a fight.
    • If this is true, South Gibson is taking a big chance. Passing on an experienced coach for a guy who has never coached at the high school level is a high risk move, especially in that district and region.
    • Dorian Eskridge was HVA's best back, 2011
    • Jo Byrns was a very solid team last year. Imo, I thought they presented the biggest challenge for us on our path to winning it all last year. I expect them to be in the conversation and one of the final few teams playing in Murfreesboro
    • I'm not sure you understand anything if you think DB's career and AD's career are comparable.  This is a terrible take.   Not to slight AD, He was a good player and he got better as he matured after high school.   But Desean had over 8,000 yards in HS and was a two-time Mr. Football.
