Anderson County will Miss Coach Kerr.

Recommended Posts

Well....blow the house down! FB1734, we have freaks on the keyboards sometimes and the smell of their stench usually gives them away. TL is the new coach at AC, and unfortunately some idiot (that would be you, sir!) has the gall to pi$$ on his welcome mat. Coaches usually merit consideration for a job base on their previous body of work in that field. AC got a steal by being able to generate money that the Oneida system can't compete with. You get a proven winner in every respect of the word, a coach that is tremendously respected by his peers, and argueably the finest Defensive Coordinator high school money can buy! /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> I'm sure the administration probably weighted the possibility of hiring J. Kerr over TL.......IMO, you've got one very wise administration. Fact is, Tony's players run through walls for him because they know if they do they will see their labors rewarded! You think last years little poverty laden bunch of Indians should have gone 13 and 1? Those poor rural kids scratched and clawed their way to the State Semi's! Heck....TL had a very good group of returning players next season, now he has to figure out a way to beat OR on a regular basis! (I'm sure that is going to be fun!) 1734, coaches like Lambert won't get bent out of shape by your comments, but his friends do! You don't like him........send him back! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> If only. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Ok no more. lets just tell all of our young players in the futures you dont have to play football

just wait till you get 40 and be a coach.

no need of working hard for 10 years in the wieght room or on practice field just get to know

the politics and you will get the job.

The End.

Politics did not play a role in the decision. Several of the applicants for the job were friends or former coaches or players who have relationships with the decision makers. This hire was made on the basis of who they felt was the very best coach available. This is no reflection on any of the other hard working coaches who received consideration. This includes Josh. He is a good coach and a great guy.

Oskie. pleas answer at least one of my questions. how much High School Football did TL play, What Position did he ever play in a game.

Ok was it 2 or 3 weeks he worked out with Cumberland College and quit and was he 25-27 when he decided to try out as a walk on at CC.

And last Wouldnt you think Josh Kerr would be more Qualified as a head coach.

I Know Politics are in schools and be rights J Kerr was way more suited for the Job.

Pleas answer some questions.

Who gives a dam how much football he has played. Coach Lambert is a dam good high school football coach sound like someone bitter. Tony Lambert was right choice for the job so get over it. Josh Kerr was a joke a White Co. he lost to freaking Cumberland Co. last year.

While I agree with your sentiments regarding TL, I think you are dead wrong about Josh Kerr. Josh took a job at a school that isn't a "football" school. While he was treated good by some, he didn't have the overall support needed to make that program a winner. Josh is a good coach and an even better person. You are dead on about Coach Lambert though.

I have heard that Coach Lambert had agreed to play Smith Co. in a spring scrimmage at Tenn.Tech. while he was at Onieda. Now that he is at Anderson Co. is this deal still on??

If so, can you tell us Smith Countians at little about Anderson Co.?? Players to watch, type of offense, defense and the likes.........

Coleman will be missed. He was the heart & soul of the defense, a 4 yr starter, & the best blocker & pass receiver, & fullback I have seen, at this level. But Longmire & Rogers & Ellison will be missed also, as they go on to TN TECH. I wish them all good luck and cant wait to watch them play. The newspaper said Coleman signed with Tusculm College where he could play close to home. THE AIR FORCE & CARSON NEWMAN & LOUISVILLE were his next offers. Good Luck &GOD BLESS them all.

I can answer your question he played receiver he only played football

for 1 year he held the reception record for years there. he also started

safty and would knock your head off but for some reason I think you prolly

already knew all this I think you are just trying to stir the pot.

Oh so that makes all the diffrence in the world he waited till his Senior year to decided

to play football i see a pattern and waited till he was 25-27 and walked on to Cumberlan

Oh well nice guy look at he school he coached at Oneida.

That like going to jellico or petros coalfield and winning a few games J Kerr earned

his way threw but i know the reason he gots it was the princicpal and him are freinds

thats the only wasy on paper he is not quilified to coach little legue.

He can llive in his day dream world and maybe just maybe he can go out and hire

some talent and get the glory but on his own he is a 45 year old losser that wasnt willing

to work for what he has in the football.

The principal is friends with a lot of football coaches. Friendship? The principal and Larry Kerr have been friends for over 30 years. So if the job was based on friendship.........?

I'm not a Oneida fan and I can't stand Anderson Co and with that being said AC hired the best coach around TL teaches PCC and if you had ever been to a Oneida game you would know that. Now stop hiding behind a key board and go grind your ax with him (bet your to cowardly to do that) or come to me I live in Kingston and will galdly meet you some time if your not just a coward hiding behind a keyboard like I think you are.

I'm a Catholic fan and this guy's ###### me off. I hate to bust your bubble but the coach of the New Jersey Nets didn't play in high school or college. He was a dang manager and is making several million a year as a professional coach. Great players seldom make good coaches. To me, no matter what sport, you need a coach with passion, organization and a willingness to constantly learn and impove.

GIVE IT A REST football1734!

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
