No moving van for Akula yet.....

The kid called and she was ecstatic.

She is enjoying watching this team play more so than football.

Why? Because she already knows the outcome of the football game.

She said Adrian played well tonight and that it was a good team effort.

Congrats to the soccer T's and keep it going.

PS Did Joe play tonight.... /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Had to check my pulse after this one. I don't even remember who scored because it was so exciting. Great game, but everyone complained about the refs. If you weren't there, you missed a great one. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

(no, joe didn't play /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> )

Not sure how many of these exciting finishes I can handle. Saw my life flash before me when I slipped and all the players were right there on top of me.

It was a very exciting match that was back and forth with momentum and a real testament to all the young men that set foot on the pitch. No one gave in and everyone played their hearts out. I feel for the Irish, having been on that end of it in years past, they are deserving of their reputation as one of the top teams in the state.

I'm very proud of our team and their attitude. It could have been so easy to quit when we went to OT after the PK, "here we go again, deck is stacked against us". But they came out fired up and played hard until the finish. Think it is very fitting that Sam got the gamewinner. The kid has sacrificed alot this year to help make us a better team by playing a defensive position. He stepped up big when we needed it most.

Yeah, ruined my 2-1 score with a "questionable" *coughcough* PK call. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

dont forget about the no call when the keeper had control of the ball, and the no call on the player offsides on the winning goal.

Congratulations Akula! You guys deserve it...I will be sure to make it to the Alcoa/CAK game. I guess I will forgive about the squirrels now...

Congratulations to Alcoa and Akula! I was at the Baylor vs Alcoa game and although it was early in the season....it really looked like Alcoa could have a special season. I have always enjoyed reading akula's posts for sure. Good luck in the games ahead.

i must say that im glad that i made it out to this one, it was an amazing game! hats off to both alcoa, one of the best games ive ever seen.

BUT back to this, do you really want to talk about no calls? what about when alcoas number 12, brodus i believe, was grabbed by the catholic keep, grabbed by a defender as well, and then pinned down under the both of them? was there a pk called? and then the catholic pk, not only was there minor contact, how could the ref not see the obvious flop? if your going to complain about no calls, you should probably remember that alcoa probably has a whole lot more to complain about

    • And that needs to go, Charter ,private ,magnet, city and any school that operates differently than pure public schools should be separated. What really needs to be done is address urban and rural. About all the usual powers have access to several kids from other schools period.
    • Sad deal. Hate it. So the coach that kicked her off is now fired??
    • Slightly off topic from a gender standpoint but just observed several boys volleyball games in the Knoxville area for a short spring season. The guys seemed to have a great time. There were several club players on each team but several football, basketball and tennis players involved. Knoxville Catholic, Maryville, Heritage, Knoxville West maybe William Blount had teams. Thanks to Coach Brent Carter from Knoxville Catholic/K2 for getting it together. I’m sure the coaches involved got several laughs trying to coach guys that really had no idea what they were talking about but pretty athletic and competitive. Catholic’s best basketball player told the coach he had played a lot of 2:3 and 1:3:1 but never a 3:3 LOL Maybe it will catch on with some more schools next year.
