Hendersonville winning it.

The Hendersonville - Farragut game will be one of the hardest games played by both sides. Whoever wins this game I think will win the championship. I have my faith in Hendersonville as they have been playing hard and great in the recent games I have seen. Go Commandos.

(oops, posted this in the wrong thread last time)

AAA State bracket first rounds are mainly uneventful with the exception of Hendersonville/Farragut. All other games will get no ink as they will most likely be very predictable (I'll leave it to your own opinion as to who wins). The Hendersonville/Farragut game is really the only one worth talking about. These two met earlier in the year and finished in a 0-0 tie. Hendersonville seems to have to hardest schedule but Farragut a better record so this will be a fantastic match.

I'll say Brentwood and Cleveland in the final with Brentwood winning

Brentwood will definitely be there, but I think they will play the winner of Farragut and Hendersonville, which will probably be Farragut.

Farragut wins the final in OT.

i think the REAL state championship game will be played in the first round, when Hendersonville plays Farragut. Shame they have to meet in the first round..

Yes, that is the problem with the blind draw format. Sometimes the best two teams meet in the quarterfinals.

Dins my friend, I respect your statement that this team is better than last year, skilled coaches and students of the game standing in the stands are usually a better source for the level of the team than the players. Although I will never admit to any of the players playing now that they are better!! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> You got one thing spot on though, CBHS vs Farragut is a tremendous match-up, I wish that you could of seen that match-up last year. I know that everyone on the team last year will admit its probably the most intense game we played last year. Im pretty sure that CB would say the same. This year would be no different.

Bearden Brentwood KINGSBURY Farragut

Brentwood Farragut with Farragut regaining the State Title back to the East

Kingsbury seems like a scrappy team that could surprise Cleveland or Riverdale...lot of international talent on that team...but no one but CBHS can hang with Farragut now it seems its theirs to lose

Cleveland tied CBHS 1-1 with CBHS's goal coming in the 79th minute.

Cleveland has a very strong team. I have only seen Cleveland play once....against my team (Baylor) and was very impressed with them. I hope the Blue Raiders can win it all this year. Good luck.

The blind draw.....(would love to know how this is done) somehow puts Farragut against hendersonville, a team they have all ready played.

This is the only matchup where they will have to play again in the qter finals. I think it is terrible

Why wouldnt Hville face cleveland?

I just think that if these 8 teams make it to the tourny, they should see some new competition!

Cant wait to see all the games.

Good luck to everyone and may the best team win!

The blind draw.....(would love to know how this is done)

Basically they put Bearden and Farragut on opposite sides of the bracket (because thet are in the same region) and then they pull names out of a hat.

Sometimes the top two teams play in the quarters.... that is part of the "bad side" of a blind draw.Sometimes the two best teams are on opposite sides of the bracket.

For what it's worth, it works the same way in basketball. Several years ago #1 and #2 in the state AAA basketball tournament played in the quarters and #1 won the game by 3 points. They won the semis and the finals by over 20 points. Just the way it goes with a blind draw.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
