This is a totally unfair statement to make. Public and private schools are not divided in Tennessee, therefore, the champion is the only team who ends their season on a win. That would be Trinity. Give credit where it is due. Sure, Forrest is a great team, and last year they WERE the champions. This year they were the runner-up, still an awesome accomplishment. As someone who played Trinity in the state tournament, they are definitely the best team in single A, and I would put them up against any other champion in any class to give them a run for their money. Don't take away what Forrest HAS earned by demeaning what Trinity EARNED...

Congratulations to EVERY public school in the State of Tennessee that only has one school in it's town.

YOU are the STATE CHAMPIONS of public schools in your Town.

To those that have more than one public school in your town:

Congratulations, you are the STATE CHAMPIONS of public schools on your block.

Ridiculous, but makes as much sense as the one that started this thread.

If not for the multiplier - Forrest would not "sniff" any state tournament in any sport

There's a difference in being proud of your team and belittling another. I love it. Every year Forrest loses their fans yell about them being public school champions, but when they win, they are CHAMPIONS and giving Trinity a public education. It's okay I'm sure that 2009 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP trophy will look great next to the other two! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
