KCHSCoach
The field is set for Knoxville Catholic's Pilot/Taco Bell Tournament. This year promises to be a very competeitive tournament Dec 6th-7th. This tournament has been held at Karns and Carter in years past and I believe Coach Dugger, the master of tournaments started it. This will be Catholic's fourth year having it. coachmasters
How can Smyrna be there and at Kenwood at the same time?
KCHSCoach
Had an e-mail saying they were coming, but you are right can not be in two places at once.
CoachGonyeaSHS
We have it all worked out Johnny, we'll still be at Kenwood. Gonyea

blastdbl
The answer is no. Posted by karelin:How can a team be at two tournaments at the same time, legally?
karelin
The only way that two teams from the same school can compete on the same day is for one team to be in a JV- tourney-only with JV wrestlers. The rules clearly state that two teams from the same school cannot compete in two different varsity level tourneys at the same time.
noonesfool
Karelin and Blastdbl are correct. Check your national and TSSAA regs.
luchador
I did check my TSSAA regulations. On page 26, it states that "In all individual sports, (wrestling is listed), individuals accompanied by a coach may enter varsity competition at different sites at the same time and date, and this will count as two dates on the schools' schedule." I don't believe that TSSAA would waver from NFHS policy regarding this. It looks as if Smyrna will be able to participate in both events. CoachGonyeaSHS
Smyrna wasn't trying to cause a problem. We just want as many opportunities to wrestle as possible. We want to be at both tournaments, and the way I read the rules, I thought we could. I'll check with TSSAA tomorrow... I would never assume that I was right without checking. Anyway, sorry everyone.
