Glad to see you know so much about it. At last, an expert who knows the ins and outs of our school system. Ms Harvey told the boys it was Jollys decision, soooo are you saying Ms Harvey is a liar? Sounds that way to me!

Why in the world would Trotter want to come here, the pay cut that he will have to take is unreal, theres no benefits, and he has a much smaller ratio of boys to choose from. Since you know the FACTS about Trotter, maybe you should inform him of these things.

I think that since you know whats "best" maybe you should come and hire the coach. And as to your "breaking " anything to us, do you honestly think that you know something we don't???? Good grief, have you been paying attention, or just blindly typing? We KNOW that HC has it in for Moore, they have done everything they could do to run him off. All because they are responsible for what happened to his son. If it had of been my son I would of done the same thing. We know that the chances of him being hired are low, NOT because he isn't qualified, but because of his son getting his jaw broken!!!!

We are simply here stating what the team wants. The team is first with us, these are good boys who play hard, and they deserve a say in it. And thats what they are getting.

Greatly said basketball4me, honestly with all the pull and politics being described on here, its no wonder why these young people feel the way they do!! These boys need and want Scott Moore as their coach so they will have a reason to believe and trust in each other! The game of basketball has no place for politics, dont take the fun and pride out of it for our young children! Houston County has always been basketball strong, it would be a shame for that to change now, by letting these young ones down, the pride will be gone and a team without pride does not do well!

Like I said before the decsion will be made by "ms jolly", but thats because ms. harvey and mr beal do not want to be the ones that say that coach moore didnt get the job. I like coach moore and think he is a good coach. But in high school boys basketball his record is 0-0...He has also coached some very good teams throughout his career. Good middle school boys teams and probably the best girls team HC has had in 20 years the year that they won the district...I really do think Coach moore is a good coach and has the potential to be a great coach, but Trotter has done wonders in Summertown...A school smaller than HC, and in his 10+ year tenure in coaching the boys basketball team has been to the state tournament as much as all of the HC high school sports combined(throughout the history of the school).... Like I said before if he applies and HC does not give him the job, they are not looing for the best interest of the sports program..

Those same middle school boys that he coached are the ones wanting him back! Man it must make Scott feel good to know they still care about him that much! The opinions of those boys should be all the interest needed to do what is best, in the end they will be the ones to play the game.

Must of missed this post, but it shows how little research u have done...Summertown has 13 more students in their school, so if averages are close that means he would have 6.5 less boys to choose from(not a good arguement)...Lawerence Co. alothough paying a little better than Houston co. is a rural community that dos not pay much better... Trotter applied to the Waverly job a few years back...why? To go back home...This will place him much closer to home....

I never once said that Coach moore was not qualified....But he is not the BEST hire...Trotter has proven to be a winner on this level.. Coach moore is a great guy and I feel so bad for what happened to him on the law suit situation...I take his side every time someone approaches me with the issue...

About Ms. Harvey telling the boys....She realizes that Ms. Jolly will pick coach cox, taking the pressure off her when someone asks why did scott not get the job...She can say, "I didn't pick it"....Now what would be very interesting is if Ms. Jolly decided coach moore.....Then watch the veto bill Fly......

FYI I do know this system along with many of the surronding systems, very well...I have close ties in Houston Co, Hump. Countym and Stewart Co. Ath. department and board members...I have also held residence throughout some portion of my life in all three of these counties....And no i live in none of them right now, but I know plenty of the powers in all three counties...

The fact is that Trotter wants to get close to home.I don't know if he has applied but he is a good man and a great coach.HC could not go wrong with any of the names mentioned besides Butcharelli. He was only there out of desparation and he was willing, this is verbatim from the only one that could say that with certainty.Scott is a good coach, but so are the others. The only reservations about Scott that I would have is would he still have the desire to coach after his kids are gone. There has been alot said about this teams wants but what is important is the best hire for the program long term, not just because we have a good team with alot of potential coming back.I know Scott has a great deal of influence with these kids but what about the kids that are not the same age as his kids, will he continue to have the desire for coaching when his are no longer there.I do not know the answer but it needs to be asked. This is a hire for the best of the PROGRAM not the best for this SEASON.

Four the next four years....This is a hire for 20+ years...I am not saying he is not qualified or will not do a good job...I am jsut saying he will not get the job, and if trotter was to apply is not the best canidate...

I "know" where I am getting my information from...Trotter has not applied as of Tuesday, but i believe it is still posted, correct? I never once said that he did apply, but I personally think that he may...I "know" that he atleast inquired about the position before Tuesday.

GotGame? Are you a Houston Countian?? If you are then plz stop trying to stir up the boys, they do not appreciate your comments. THEY are the ones in the meetings. THEY have the words straight from the horses mouth. THEY are having their say, whether or not it will help them is to be seen, but at least someone is listening ( Thank you Ms Jolly )

If you are not, then just shut up. Our team means alot to us, and I personally think your just trying to agitate the situation.

Houston Countian is something I have been at one point in my life...not now, but still find myself attending a few games throughout each and every year...I know many of the powers in Houston county, and I am jsut telling you what is really going on...Truth hurts but small town politics will play a role in this hire....Scott (a friend of mine, that I talk to atleast 10 tiems a year) will not be hired, plain and simple...For many of the wrong reasons at that.

Also, the Ath. director position will come open, so the money for whomever is hired could be taken care of through this position as well..

No, I didn't research Trotter, he hadn't applied, so why would I? I have nothing against him, don't know him, knew his father, great coach.

As to you having close ties to the " powers" , then use your pull and as I said, you pick our new coach.

You seem to be an expert on everything, or full of bull.............. I think, along with most of the people on this board, that it's the second choice.

But you are right about one thing, Ms Harvey threw the ball in Ms Jollys lap so it wouldn't be blamed on her.

Thats not even the point of all this, you have totally missed it.

The kids wanted a say. They got it.

As to Moore leaving after his kids do, why would he? He intends to retire from the HC system.

Who's to say the other coaches would be here for the long haul?

another part time supporter who only showed up after we beat CA i guess.

Again I will say......... do you honestly think you have told us a big secret???? This thread is to support our boys, who have joined together to plead their case. Plain and simple. If you truly want to support them, then tell them job well done. And I doubt seriously that you are a true friend of Moores. I have read your posts off and on for a while now. You are always a negative smart alec.

When the dust settles, if trotter decides not to apply...Cox will get the job....Ms. Harvey will get to shed blame for "putting the ball in Ms. Jolly court"...Coach moore will continue to look outside of HC for a new teaching position....

If trotter applies they would be stupid not to hire him...Ask CA, a team with little or no more talent than HC this past year took them out in the first round of the State tourney...

I am not pulling against coach moore whatsoever.....and with little that I know about coach cox I really hope and think he would be a better fit than Coach Cox.... but however you want to look at it.....Its not going to happen...

    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
