Wake up, no it's not a dream. Lewis County was defeated by Parsons 21-16. The score of the game made the Panthers look good to compared how they actually played.Lewis County was dominated tonight. And like many others I'm waiting for the "excuses" to roll in!! How about it Panther26?? Aren't you the one that predicted LC to win easily?? Maybe you should concentrate on handing out water and not predicting scores. I believe that this should be a wake up for our guys since they have been extremly cocky at school. Maybe they will learn and maybe not. Good Luck the rest of the season.

I am shocked by the outcome of this game. I will be the first to admit I was wrong when I picked LC to win big. They better be ready next week also because the Jackets are looking to make it 2 in a row for LC. And I believe it was Panther26 who was talking trash on here about tonight's game. Maybe ole Bobby should say something to him!!

We were just outplayed tonight. Credit Parsons for a great team. They were the only competition we have faced all year and probably the only competition we will face until the playoffs, and that could be bad news for us. I'm not one to question officals but David sure did look like he crossed the line before he fumbled in the fourth. But oh well. I hope we learn from this game and realize we are not invinceable after all. Hang in there boys. :x

Lewis Co. played a hard fought game. I believe both teams have a ton of talent but Parsons came out on top tonight. Lewis made a bunch of mistakes which makes you wonder if there heads were in the right place. I believe Lewis County will bounce back from this defeat and finish the year very strong. What dosen't kill you only makes you stronger. Ignore all the negative post and head for the State guys.

First of all, hopefully this will be a wake up call to all the Lewis County fans that were on here making wild predictions of beating Riverside by 40 points or more. This does nothing but serve to motiavte the opponents and make Lewis County overconfident. My post in the original thread stated that I just hoped we could get out of Decatur County with a win. Those that have seen them on film knew they were the real deal.

As for the game, it was a very hard hitting game between two hard nosed football teams. Decatur County dominated the line of scrimmage in the entire first half. Lewis County was not able to get any of the skill people unleashed for this reason. Decatur County ran simple basic plays but their execution was superb. When you control the line of scrimmage, you will usually win football games. They have two very, very good backs, #4 and #24... good speed, great second effort and good balance. They were and are a much better team than most knew about.

Lewis County made a charge in the second half after trailing 14-0 at the intermission. They cut it to 21-16 with 5 minutes left and had momentum on their side but give Riverside all the credit in the world for regrouping, driving for three first downs and running the clock out.

On this night, the best team won... bottom line! Good luck to Riverside, a class program with class fans and a very energetic PA announcer who serves his team well. And I hope our team learns not to pay so much attention to wild eyed predictions in the future...

I put some pics in the gallery of the Parson/Lewis Co game.

You need to go to the LC Schedule and click the little camera. I have some more to post later when these come on so check back.

Sorry about the captions, I am not too good at that :)

Hats off to Parsons coaching staff. They had a well balanced offence. #24 and #4 were two very tough backs, that refused to be tackled on the first hit. There was some questionable calls that could make the difference,But basicly we were out played. We have to play four quarters to win. One thing for sure, the safety equipment was tested with some awsome hits. #5 will be very very sore today. :):):):):)

    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
    • It may be hard to believe but there’s more people than me that think you guys are a bunch of losers.    I’m sure the coaching staff, yourself included, cursed at a bunch of high school students. Nobody could name more than 3 coaches on staff due to the constant turnover.
