GC....Is there a website out there with any info on these AAU tournaments??..I'd like to see the stats of our 13AA girls....

I'm not sure, but the Wings won again earlier tonight, 70-42. Also, I was told that this is a showcase and not the actual national tournament yet. I was told the actual tournament will be much tougher.

Butler, Griffin, and Reedy from GC, Reichis from Westview, a gal from Dyer Co., a gal from Memphis is all I know. They play the PC Ballers 10am. If they win they will play again at 2:20, and if they win that one they play for the Siilver championship at 7pm tonite. And yes Fussell is playing for the Memphis Elite and I understand that they have been eliminated

The Wings won their game this afternoon by the score of 58-55. There was a scheduling conflict and they were ruled co-champions which is pretty crazy. They beat every team they've played easily and get ruled co-champs due to a scheduling conflict! Congrats to them on beating every team they've played thus far!

How pitiful is it to have something like this come up in that big of a tournament? Pretty ridiculous.

Pool play for nationals begins tonight at 7. Good Luck to the Wings in that!

Finally some basketball talk!! Here's just my opinion bout this district..

1) Gibson...their heart is back & Russell will keep them focused.

2) OC...folks best watch Fussell & Pate..if they play off each other, look out & their coach will shine..

3) Westview.....like their play, coaching, etc but concerned bout their lack of size compared to top 2..

4) Haywood....athletic & will challenge folks every nite...

5) Milan....outstanding post play but guards will hold team back. Post can't score without ball..

6) Dyersburg..still young & learning..give them one or two more years then they'll be back on top..

7) Covington...not sure what the issue here is but don't seem to get it together..

8) Crockett Co..same as Covington..

9) Ripley...in for a long year in this district...

    • Gleason all over west Carroll in scrimmage. Gleason is big and fast
    • Defending 2A state Champs Westview Lady Chargers are pretty tough. They lost a bunch of production off last year's squad but returned some talent as well. They still McCall Simms, a Tennesseee Lady Vol softball commit as well as solid talent around the diamond. I dont think they are as good as last season but they will definitely be a tough out. Huntingdon Lady Mustangs seem to be pretty stout as well. Don't know much about Riverside other than Westview defeated them earlier in regions. West Tennessee softball is pretty solid all around id say.
    • Eagleville couldn’t catch up to Jones, he did have his location issues but in that game Eagleville popped up everything and the one hit they did have could have been ruled an error. Jeffcoat was a lot sharper in the beginning of the season last year than the end. ER ran out of pitching and still was in striking distance but none the less the better team one. Last seasons tournament was A LOT more balanced and talented. South Pitts starter is a Lefty who was low 80’s but couldn’t maintain his velo throughout the  outing, their #2 was more impressive last year, we knocked him around this year and his mph was down some. Their #3 isn’t bad neither, throws a lot of strikes and sits high 70’s.
    • He actually had a really solid spring.  I could see him getting some backup snaps on offense and be a regular on special teams.  Really athletic kid who can run.
