Spring Hill is going to be primed for an excellent year if they play to their capabilities. Broc Loveless is an experienced player who can hurt ya in several ways at the QB position and he has a "go-to-guy" at receiver in Xavier Lee. Their offense is very well coached and they find ways to get Lee the ball. If their defense can stop anyone in a clutch situation (which was really their demise all year last season) then they could be a playoff team. They were very competitive against Marshall Co., Page, & Cheatham Co. in the second half of the season last fall and won their last game against Creek Wood.

Man i would love to see Broc succeed because i know him very well off the football field. I think i have watched one game of his and he did pretty good as i recall. I wish Broc and the Raiders the best next season.

And i think they will lose to cannon week 0.

Never have gotten why people on message boards like these tell what they "think" will happen when truthfully they probably have no idea what they're talking about. These same people probably know absolutely NOTHING about the other school's team that they "think" their school will beat. I never thought in my wildest dreams that someone from Cannon County would be the first to try to talk smack regarding this game. Not that anyone from Spring Hill would do that on here, it's just that I didn't think I'd see that from Cannon County people considering the changes that have gone on at that school the last two years.

What was Cannon County's record last year? What do they have coming back? What offense do they run?

Whether they win or lose will be decided on the field...I was just trying to find out x and o's details to know what to expect if I go watch a game. I'll leave the trash talking to others.

They were 4-6 in '08.

6-5 in '07 with a trip to the Upperman Bowl.

From what I've read on the Cannon Co boards, there seems to be some concerns about their numbers?

Spring Hill will name their score against Cannon Co. (promise ya)

Cannon Co. isn't Alcoa. Cannon Co. isn't Columbia Central. Cannon Co. isn't Lipscomb. Cannon Co. isn't Giles. Cannon Co. isn't Marshall. Cannon Co. isn't Page. Cannon Co. isn't Cheatham.

All of those are teams that the Raiders have been playing against for the last 2 years (and some of them 4 years) and as insulting as it may seem.....sorry but it's the truth.....the Raiders players will find Cannon Co. to be much easier to matchup with than any of those teams I named above.

The "upperman bowl" ??? Is that real or did you just make that up? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

4-6 doesn't give much bragging rights.

I don't make things up. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

Per the High School Football Database they played in the "Upperman Bowl" in 2007 and beat Creekwood 54-48.

If that's incorrect, then I'm incorrect.

    • Harriman was better than what I anticipated. They had good skill guys and a QB that’s gonna make a lot of teams look silly. They had some silly pre snap penalties but it’s just spring and I guess that’s expected.    Oneida looks the part. They are big upfront and got a stable of backs that’s gonna carry them this year. They have a few playmakers at receiver also. They have a new receiver that has only played basketball till this year and he is very athletic. The question is can we find a QB to consistently get them the ball. They played 2-3 kids there and none looked great but they didn’t look awful either. The  defense is gonna be tough again but it’s very early and a lot can change between now and the fall.     It was good just to get out and watch some ball. I don’t know if Oneida has the team to win the region this year but just what I saw tonight I think they may be in the conversation come November.
