I guess EHS won, but I don't know if it was 34-28 or 36-34. 104.5 had said 34-28 but now is saying 36-34, so I guess it is the latter.

 

EHS apparently scored late to send it to OT. Someone at the game will have to report.

Main thing is it sounds like it was a heck of a game to watch. Probably one of the better games in Middle Tn tonight besides Farragut vs R'dale.

28-14 Smyrna with 10:00 minutes left, Ensworht cut it to 28-20 with about 6:30 left. Ensworth scored with 18 seconds left went for 2 to tie it 28-28. Had ball first scored, went for 2 and made it. Smyrna scored went for 2 and did not make it. Final 36-34.

DNJ reporting Mr. Darkwa had 300 yards rushing on 31 carries. Wow, I thought we held him to at least his average of 225. I'm not sure he even played in the 3rd quarter.

On the radio tonight they said Ensworth was the best team in the state.

 

The Coach T scoreboard is incorrect, Ensworth won in overtime 36 - 34, as for best team in the state I would think Alcoa and MUS would be at the top in most discussions.

Ensworth turned the ball over 5 times, the rain defiantly played a factor. Darkwa was out the entire third quarter and Smyrna was really off and on defensively, Bryson had a heck of the game. I will post a summary later when I get some stats from one of my friends.

Earl Nall published some data a decade or so ago, but it overlapped with the split (period chosen was 1993-2000). Here's a smatering of the data:

As I predicted, #10 with a big game will be a win for Ensworth.

Should have kept hime off the field in the 4th qtr too!

Sounds like Smyrna let up after going up by 2 TD's.

Can't do that against the #70th best HS in the US.
