This is my prediction 2 days early. If Graham changes his whole game plan, throws everything at South even confuses the home crowd on play calling South 28-13 (missing 1 extra pt) If what a friend said was true today, if GC told a certain sports writer he was going to cut out all the complicated stuff, and go back to the basics, then South 42-13. Our problem will not be on offense, our secondary is giving a 15yrd cushion. Most middle schools could move the ball on our dbs for a while. If you cant throw on them, you're in trouble down the road.

South has the better team this yr. With South turnovers= close for 2 qtrs, without = could get ugly. We simply dont have the horses to run with the Rebs this yr, but every 15 yrs or so I can take it , they deserve it. Dang that hurt.

Takes guts to speak from your head and not your heart and I respect your post in that regard lips. However games are played and upsets occur and I'm sure you're pulling as hard for the Tribe as anyone.

I'm surprised to learn that a Watson coached defense is playing a secondary with cushions when our memory on that fateful 44-0 drubbing was press coverage all night long with unrelenting pressure. Why the change? Is it that you haven't faced the spread this year or don't have the personnel?

Great post Ticket to Ride...I think we need to get the running game going...thats not been there so far..besides St.Claire, and he want be available friday night by the way. With St.Claire out that takes away our running from the QB position..I know Heath had two long runs against Central but...get real..a middle school player could run on them. Our running backs are going to have to step up..We don't have a Taylor Fletcher at Rb this year..well we might but!!!!thats another story. I think DB can beat us on our special team play alone. If it comes down to special team play...well DB wins.I say Derrick will return a kickoff for a TD maybe two if we kick to him.And Seabolt will be rotating with Roop at QB.Seabolt is a great athlete that can cause us some problems.Look for DB to pass alot and from what I hear look for some tricks, at this point Graham has nothing to lose and he will pull all of his tricks out of his hat. I hope that I'm wrong but I think this game is going to be alot closer than some South people can swallow. I hope we put up 60 points...but I just don't have a good feeling with St. Claire being out.PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG REBELS!!!!!! Roll Rebel Nation!!!!!!:thumb:

This post concerns me rrn. I hope you aren't regretting the decision that you guys made. Patience is a virtue.

Can't speak for rrn, but we are only 6 into an 11-15 game season and JC will be good to go when he's good to go if you know what I mean.

Im really surprised myself. The only speed on this team is IN the secondary except for Chris, and when i mean speed, every one except Steele has been caught from behind running the ball. Steele has dropped some passes this year, but whwere he would do all the damage, is on pitch outs or something simple, he can scoot if he gets through. Funny thing he never gets the ball.

Yea my heart wants to fight you guys on here, and im usually a cocky ba-t--d, but my head says fight my battle of words on here another day, maybe next year. We have an awesome frosh team coming, and a stud to compliment Chris next yr.

Crawdad, what concerns you about this post...the truth or what...and for JC he needs to be on the field some where and you can't say he don't....returning kicks ,punts ...defensive back that we could use.

I dont knoW DAD. I have a lot of unanswered questions this year, from the election on down haha! Serious? I have no idea. My unanswered questions at D-B consist of-why is the visitors section is a joke, the parking lot is an uncalled for bunch of crap, has GC lost his stones? if not will he ever hire an offensive cooridinator, who is this kid? and how much money did his dad contribute, is our AD really this stupid?or is he just a Science Hill implant and doing exactly what he did to our basketball team, and how long before GC or head coach of the future put up with the idiots coaching the middle schools. Thats a complete joke in itS own. I can go a long time with some unanswered questions. But I will tell you this, WE'RE GETTING A LITTLE MORE THAN RESTLESS ON THIS RESERVATION!! I NEED A DRINK.

Reading some of this stuff is hilarious. What happened in the past doesn't matter Friday night. What happened with Boone doesn't matter Friday night...I will deviate here...at Boone South was emotionally drained. What they didn't lose emotionally during the week after the West game, they left on the field vs. Greeneville. They had nothing left, hence all the mistakes and miscues but regardless they found a way. They were down 21-7 and scored two straight TD's. I thought it funny the Boone coach said they had South but he never admitted it was his coaching guffaws that cost his team the game. They got up and he panicked...and that is SSouth....better coaching. If your team keeps it close, he will still win by outcoaching you...

This is a rivalry and what is on paper doesn't matter.

South has to run the FB. I hadn't heard about #7 playing but if he does, he cannot carry the ball 30 times. There has to be more production from the tailback position than 3.9 YPC. In a way, DB can defend the pass and dare South to beat them running. #12 hasn't really carried the ball much but he has two long runs so he can beat you. He is a good athlete but his playing QB hurts the receiving corps.

DB needs to play good field position. They need to take advantage of SS weak kicking game. #10 is a great linebacker but average punter. If DB can back up South, field the punts they can win the field position game. With that said I like #26 for SS kicking field goals.

DB needs to eliminate the big plays from South. SS has had plays of 78, 63, 58, 40, plus FUM returns and INT return. South likes the big play...

#33 for South and #10 will need big games and I am not forgetting #56. They need to break Sensabaugh down and make Roop beat them. DB hasn't had a decent passer since Burton's senior year. If they can break down Sensabaugh and put pressure on Roop....the DB O may not score. SS has 8 or so sacks this year.

I think South can win a couple of ways...but they lived on the big play last year and are living on it this year...DB has to eliminate them. DB has to keep the South O off the field and win the field position battle. They have to make South impatient and make a young QB starting his 3rd game make bad decisions. If South can run the ball and then mix it up....and then pop a few big plays which is the MO, it will be a long night for DB...

I am guessing here....the ticket to ride is South 28 DB 7

I don't think you'll see Derrick returning any kicks for TD's. He's not even the return man anymore. I guess his return average last year was to high or something. We got some kid back there now that doesn't even get on the field any other time. He's a return specialist I guess. No threat to break one, trust me. I don't see how you figure we're any better than South on special teams unless South is really terrible there. There will be no rotating at QB. Roop will go all the way. There will be no trick plays. Clark lost that book of plays about three or four years ago. There will be no more than 10 passes from DB and 2 of those will be int.'s. Sensabaugh off tackle 30 times.

PS: To many people on here saying St. Clair is not playing. If you really want us to believe it, slack off a little. Besides, your back up would pass all over our secondary. Remember the huge cushion. You will see what I mean Friday night. South will win by as many as they want to.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
