croz6110
In all seriousness, there are problems with this team, and everyone even remotely close to the program knows it. Their is still time to right the ship and make some noise in the playoffs. And, If some of the things that, IMO, need to be changed are taken care of at this point in the season, it would really send a message to some people. I don't have any doubts that the coaches and players can do the job, but I think most people agree that some things should change.
thebluetigerpaw
I am behind this Tiger team 1000%. That includes every single player on the team and every single coach in this program. I think that some of you forget that we are still (by TSSAA standards) a 1A school who has only played 2 1A teams this season. We have played and beaten one 3A school and almost took down another one in 3A. We beat a 2A school also. I think we can play with just about anyone, but there was no shame in losing to Trousdale or Friendship. We weren't the first schools that happened to this season or the last. Those of us who are realistic knew we were going to have to rebuild and play some players that normally would be on the sidelines. Instead of them being slowly weaned in, they have to start. Because of circumstances, some of them had to grow up fast and contribute right away. Some have been able to swim and some have sunk. That is called life. I for you don't want to see a child of 14 have to go up against an 18 or 19 yr old if they don't have to. They could have a career-ending injury or end up quitting the sport. Letting them watch gets them hungry. You people act like our season is over, when a week or so ago you declared us state champs. I bet you think you could solve all the problems with the Titans or Vols too from the safety of your Lazyboy. I get sick of reading what you say, and my CoachT is blocked on my son's computer so he doesn't have to read your constant criticism. FYI, Our season is NOT over. We have 2 games left against schools in our classification. We have a very good shot of making playoffs. What we have done in the past is irrelevant right now. Let's live in today. There are few players these days on any teams that have the same heart and love for the game as their forefathers did. I know this and you know this. Parents do a lot of interfering these days. In the past, they let the coach have free reign. I think all of you agree that Mr. Medley was a great hard-nosed coach in the past. If you look at some of the things he has done as a high school administrator, you admit he has mellowed alot. He would have shown parents the door that dared to question him and now he doesn't. I still admire him and if he hired Coach Marshall, then the must have thought Coach could turn this ship around. I think so too IF you people would let the man do his job without keeping things stirred up when we LOSE. Go TIGERS!! Let's go out and BEAT CLAY COUNTY! We owe them from last year . Let's put it to them from the first snap to the last one. Let's make them hurt every play by smacking them in the mouth so they don't want to get back up. Let's show them what TIGER FOOTBALL is all about!

You hung tough with SC when no one thought you had a prayer. You have lost some close games you could have won & maybe should have. All you need to do is make the playoffs. After that it's a new season. From an outsider & neighbor, who wishes you well, you need to know this is beginning to sound a bit like Macon Co. You're getting better, you're making some mistakes. Happens. Moose is making progress. Give him your support & a reasonable chance, or apply for his job. Get out there & beat the socks off Clay & keep trucking. Let's show them what TIGER FOOTBALL is all about! If you read my last post, I said that the season wasn't over, and that we could still right the ship for the playoffs. As I've also said before, I can't get on here and say everything's hunky dorey when it's not. Now, I don't know who your son is, but if he came off the field at the Westmoreland game wondering what I was going to say on here, he must've noticed the same things I did. And, If your son gives a 100% every play, he has nothing to worry about. I've not said anything on here that any other fans of other teams say. I've seen SP and TC say the same things about there team when they're not up to snuff, but I get chastised for it. I have no kid on the team, I'm just a Gordonsville fan. I want to see this team succeed more than anyone. When they do well, I'll mention it, when they don't I'll mention it. Now, you can't tell me they played to the best of their potential when they were ahead of Jackson Co. 15-14 at half, the same Jackson Co. that only beat Red Boiling Springs 14-8. As for the playoffs, we're in unless we lose to Pickett Co. That won't happen. We'll also beat Clay pretty easily. But, we'll be tested in the playoffs. I'm interested to see how the kids respond. Grunt, you know as well as anyone that I've supported this team even last year. We'll make the playoffs, and we may do alright. As far as sounding like Macon Co., I'm definitely not calling for his job. I will not call out individual players. As far as hanging close with Smith Co. I think they've been exposed in the past few weeks as not being as good as everyone thought. Looking back, I think that's one of the games we should've won. Looking forward, I think we'll do well in the playoffs til we get to South Pitt. I honestly think we have the talent to play with them on a good night, catching some breaks here and there. This is a good team, I've said that all year. It's just a good team not playing at their potential.
Roy Dillard
These teams have some big ole boys that can knock some holes for the runners to run through. You think im joking because im not. These boys are good and tough too. I saw that big fullback for Clay last year and he was big strong and fast. You think im joking but im not. He is real good. The runners for both teams will do better if the coach will make them wear ankle weights during the week. It will make them real fast for the game on Friday. Let me ask you another question. Are these boys lifting weights this week? Whichever team lifts the most this week will have an advantage in this game. They have 2 days left and they can get some muscles pumped up during that time. I hope you fellers have a good game. Murphy told me it would be good so it will be a good one. My Murphy Fair book says both teams are better so I know the are. Murphy says that Clay has a different coach. Is he a good one like that other one they had?

I can't say that I blame you. As far as bashing coaches, I don't think I've bashed them on here, I've questioned some things, but not bashed them. I've seen some of your posts and you've questioned Oakland coaches as well, so pot meet kettle. I can also tell by your post that you don't understand entirely what has went on. That's not your fault, you're not close to the program. I've also said on here I'm confident that Coach Marshall can do the job, I believe right now the results aren't what he and alot of people would've liked. I don't go into too much detail on here about the "problems" I see. The reason is some people might not see it as problems, however, most do. Another reason I don't go into to much detail is this is a site to talk about high school football, good and bad. There isn't a website to talk about how I do my job, so I try not to be too critical of the coaches on here. I have questioned some things, but I haven't just all out bashed them. I've known all the coaches with the exception on Marshall a long time and played for most of them. They know me and they know who I am on here. So, I'm not hiding behind a screename, they know who I am. As I've said before, and I'll repeat it. I'm one of the biggest Tiger fans out there. I'm one of the ones without kids on the team that make the long trips to places like Cheatham County and Westmoreland in the rain. Celina in the cold, and if we had to travel to Pickett Co. this year, I'd be there. I want to see this team succeed more than anyone, and I hope they do.
