WHO IS YOUR BIGGEST RIVAL, AND WHY?

Ever since i was a little kid, i cant think of any team we would rather beat than Oak Ridge. Most people say that it isnt really a rivalry anymore (Clinton/Oak Ridge) because of the win/lose records. But i tell you what......when it is Oak Ridge week, I get more pumped-up than any other game on the schedule. And when it is close to kick-off time, i can feel the goose bumps and the hair standing up on the back of my neck.

The city of Clinton is about a 1/3 the size of the city of Oak Ridge. Clinton is almost always considered the underdog. I guess that is why it means so much to us when we actually do win.

Daniel Boone's is, of course, Davy Crockett. Being one of two county in Washington County, Crockett was the first school, similar names, and the first year Boone had a football team Crockett ran up the score to beat us by 70 or 80 the first year. The Musket Bowl was dubbed since we play for the Musket every year.

As far as I'm concerned it is Franklin vs. Brentwood.

 

Ravenwood would be the second rival for Franklin.

 

Independence THINKS it should be Franklin.

 

Centennial wishes they could compete with Franklin.

Because of the bus load of thugs they bring to our house every other year and the filthy Clevelandites that come along with them.

In football I like Oak Ridge and Dobyns-Bennett because the games are usually close and well played. The two communities are similar and it has been a great rivalry. Next, I would say Farragut and then Clinton. That's just my opinion. In basketball though, Clinton no doubt.

Some folk think it is Siegel, but it is and always will be RIVERDALE, at least in football and probably in baseball too.

For me Dobyns-Bennett vs Science Hill, Kingsport vs Johnson City, neighbor vs neighbor --- just doesn't get much better than that for us! DB has dominated this series, but I've never seen any two teams fight harder to win and it usually ends up being close. DB is down this year but we will be up for this game! I hear the war drums beating louder and louder.............

 

I will mention that the DB/Oak Ridge rivalry is a close second when it was going on, like to see that one come back!
