How is Claiborne's passing game?

From reading this thread I doubt you will get a reliable answer it seems to me there are bitter cumberland gappers ( let me guess they probably lost to claiborne ) who have suddenly become greeneville fans, and greenville fans rehearsing the sunday favorite " HOW GREAT WE ARE ------- HOW GREEEEEAAAAAT WE ARE " neither of whom could reliably answer your question, but good luck.

To the original question...Claiborne's passing game is average at best. They are a run 1st team. The qb is pretty agile though and when he goes back to pass, if no one is open he will take off. And for the record...i am not one of the bitter one's. Just stating the facts. Good luck to both teams.

Well I'm a Greeneville fan and we are pretty good.....and as a rule we don't have to wait till Sunday to let ya know it.I still think I can get a pretty good answer to my question even from a "bitter" Gapper, who I'm sure had to listen to Claiborne's version of your so-called Sunday favorite.

When you are good you don't have to tell folks they already know. The simple truth is you don't know if you are good or not every team you have played that was worth a dang you lost to, unless you want to count jeff county lets see what is their record? umm 4-5 nah wouldn't say they are particularly good either. you won't find out this week either, i guess we will see in the playoffs.

We have been in every one of those games exept the betsy game. Had Sullivan South Beat and a late interception cost us. Greeneville is really awesome this year but not as good as they have been in years passed. But you will see friday night why the devils are the best team in this conference and one of the best team in the state. They will flat out destroy Claiborne. They have no chance at all. Devils by 35 at half. Mercy rule will be in affect for the 6 consecutive conference game. :roflol:

Yeah well I'd rather lose a close one to ranked Sullivan South than roll over some winless 1a team....at least we can say we've been tested by the best.

I'm so glad to hear the cumberland crap admit we let you come back!! Because we did, if the field would have been dry we would have hung half hundred on you before half time. Maybe the bulldogs will get beat? Maybe they won't? What does matter is next week when the playoffs start your mighty panthers will be watching while the bulldogs will be playing. If you won't ole 72 I will leave a ticket for you at the gate. How you like them apples!!! :roflol:

This one is over before it starts. Greenevilles d is too much as usual, and offense will have its way.

Greeneville is not a COUNTY school. If you guys want to give all your extra positional coaches, weight room and other facilities then you can be a county school and enjoy your county championship. In the meantime your a 4a city school that should beat the 3a county schools.

Greeneville has the one thing thats that WG doesn't have and money can't buy...TRADITION. Its what loosens the donors' purse strings and attracts the talent. Its why we played schools nearly twice our size to preserve old rivalries and why we pack the stands at Burley on Friday Night. Its car-washes for cheerleaders and greene-and-white dogs doled out by band boosters. We have facilities and equipment paid for by the unwaivering dedication of generations of athletes, parents and fans who support their teams and the sacrifices they make in the name of excellence. West Greene is on the verge of creating such a tradition but in order to move forward you have to let go of this whole David vs Goliath attitude you all have towards Greeneville and realize you already have everything you need to be great, you just have to have to build on it.

This is off the subject...CG72

Just wondering how Shipley is getting along with his injury? Hope he is doing well. Tell him a Rebel friend was asking about him.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
