It is kinda early but I think that LA will continue to dominate the district, and be back in the State tournement. I think that the games will be closer tho. And the rest of the district will be very competitive against each other.

I think 8AA will be one of the tops In BB play this season. LA, Cannon County and Dekalb will provide some exciting BB. I Can't wait it's been a long Summer

How did 8AA teams fare on the 14th? LA played at Harpeth....lost by 15 to NE...defeated CPA by 30 and Creek Wood by 40. LA is young but improving every day. Gonna be hard to beat.

Cannon played @ Shelbyville's playday Saturday and beat Stratford by around 10 or 12 and Webb of Bell Buckle, but I didnt hear how much in that game. I did see them beat Moore Co at our Jamboree and like what I see so far, even though its early!

I agree Cannon looked very smooth against Moore Co. , they play tonight at Bledsoe Co. should be a nice little first test to see how far they have progressed. Could be a great season for CCHS

Predictions: LA goes undefeated in the district...Again!

 

Best Players: Senior=TJ Smith "Livingston Academy" (yet to see is A game though)

Freshmen= Mason Ramsey "Livingston Academy" (will be best player in district by tourney time)

 

Thoughts: 2nd & 3rd place race will be interesting

 

Questions: Is LA really going to be a better overall team than last year?

It should be without question, Livingston Academy's district and region yet again. Few make-overs and key positions. It's up to the players to step up and play and fill the void left by quality players lost to graduation. In my opinion, last years LA team was the best of all-time, even the runner-up teams. Hard to overall beat that, but I know Melton and the crew has never let anything stop them. Interesting year coming up for Livingston Academy.

 

Side note. What happens to Mason Ramsey when opposing men his size lock him up? Can he play through it? He won't just go unnoticed all year, so I want to see how the young man reacts when the heat is on. Hope it's positive. Good luck to Melton and the Cats.
