i've had the honor of working with several people that were not blessed with the physical gifts that alot of us come here to applaud. but those people that God chose not to bestow those gifts on, have been given a light and a tenacity that few us will ever possess or even be able to understand. these are the people, that show us how "disabled" the rest of us really are. :roflolk:

Old Pirate read about a coach @ Boyd who has a son that helps on the side lines on FryDay nite. Jest curious does he attend Boyd? OP's guess is.......................No, but perhaps someone can confirm.

Yes OP he is a 3rd grader at Boyd. Great kid I just wish I had that kind of energy.

Old Pirate. Thanks

Every one of us needs a wake up call every now and again to remind us to be thankful of what we have and the road of life we have walked. Sometimes we get caught up in our daily lives and routine we just seam to forget how much we are truly blessed.

We as parents and adults need to show our kids and all kids more of how to grow and be respectful in many ways and be thankful and humble for many things, we all know that it must start at home and what they see and are taught starts them on their path through life.

The last thing I will say is: slow down and smell the roses and look around once in awhile, tell your spouse & family you love them, be nice to a stranger, and be kind to all things.

Thanks again OP :thumb:

Old Pirate taking the week off was dragged off to Chatt today with the skillet slinger. Had to go see that Blindside movie. Dad burnit recon she did something right for a change. OP watched that movie and thought about that J.Blevins youngon and others that have had similar problems. OP says Congrats to any and all who step in and take part in humility and kindness. Recon this is not about OP's initial post but is along the same topic lines. :roflol:

    • I have no clue if Derek tried to talk some since into his dad or not about staying here. All he is going to accomplish is going from the oven to the frying pan. If I were the coach all Ale would freze over before I set back and watched one of my good players leave without a fight.
    • If this is true, South Gibson is taking a big chance. Passing on an experienced coach for a guy who has never coached at the high school level is a high risk move, especially in that district and region.
    • Dorian Eskridge was HVA's best back, 2011
    • Jo Byrns was a very solid team last year. Imo, I thought they presented the biggest challenge for us on our path to winning it all last year. I expect them to be in the conversation and one of the final few teams playing in Murfreesboro
    • I'm not sure you understand anything if you think DB's career and AD's career are comparable.  This is a terrible take.   Not to slight AD, He was a good player and he got better as he matured after high school.   But Desean had over 8,000 yards in HS and was a two-time Mr. Football.
