First of all, I thought Ridgeway would win State in the preseason. Once I saw them against Sheffield, I second guessed. Then I saw Melrose, and I changed my mind altogether B) But now, I again think they can get it done, but ONLY if they give it to the young fella inside.

Now the game:

Southwind's half-court offense looked pretty sad in the second half. They looked like they chose the worst shots possible(Mason and Gray in particular). J3 makes them a threat in the half-court. But when they're running up-tempo, they work magic. Game started with great intensity. I think Ridgeway kept that energy higher than Southwind did. Paige got some foul trouble, and guess what...........Ridgeway actually GAVE IT TO THE YOUNG FELLA INSIDE, and he was automatic. Gray was a monster and Cameron Golden is the king of the hill once Joe Jackson graduates(and I can't be challenged on that one). That was the most consistently intense individual effort I've seen from anybody this season. He played all 32 minutes He pushed and dragged them to the win. Funny thing is, I remember last year's first meeting against Southwind at Ridgeway, when Golden entered the game, caught the ball on the right wing, got nervous and began to tap-dance with the ball, got called for traveling. Henning immediately took him out of the game, as it was obvious he couldn't handle the atmosphere at that time(that was the only possession he played the whole night). He COMPLETELY folded under the pressure. Well....Look at him now

Good game, can't wait to see the game at Southwind. How did Kedorian Sullivan play? He's number 35 on Southwind.

He played solid, to me. And actually, I thought he should've gotten some minutes in the 4th quarter. I don't think I remember seeing him in the second half at all, certainly not in the 4th.

If Southwind just keeps the tempo up, they'll beat anybody, easily. They played half-court ball the entire second half and it didn't look too hot. Paige made some nice-looking plays though. When they played Germantown, they did the same thing. If Mason wasn't on fire, they'd have lost that game too. Just run, too deep, too quick, USE IT!!!!!!! Ridgeway, however runs relentlessly, i mean every single chance they get.

It believe somewhere around 16 or 18. He scored 14 in the 2nd half alone and from the commercial appeal story it seems like Southwind didn't go to Gray late(again like the White Station and Gtown game)? Is that right? In my honest opinion after J3, Gray should be the obvious answer in the half court. He may have one of the best mid-range games in the city.

White Station squeaks by Mitchell by 8. Is that a good win? Jackson had 22 and so did Hollins.

Melrose beats East comfortably, Ced McAfee scored his first points. Adonis goes for 18 and Chris Jones for 21. I would LOVE to see Ridgeway and Melrose play. Nate Rucker vs. Tarik Black. Backcourt of Melrose vs. Ridgeway's.

Forget it JodyJoe the Officials will never let it be a good game between Rucker and Black. Both of them will have 3 fouls in the first quarter. Both of their games are more taylored for the College level. I do know what u mean tho. I would love to see a good ole fashion big man battle. The Refs just will not allow it. They will hurt both of them with all that ticky tack calling. Memphis game more leaning for the Guards. Look how Black and Rucker both plays out of Memphis. Even in the Arby's Rucker was Stunning the crowd. Get back to memphis same ole same ole 2 fouls in the first quarter and all on soft calls. Shameful

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
    • Pirate fans, thread is up on the baseball message board.
