Whatever you do, make sure that you buy a program while you're at the duals. There will be some good coupons from local vendors that you will be able to use around the time of the Traditional.

 

BTW, Mickey Roos in Franklin (very close to Franklin HS) awesome Texas style BBQ. Plus it's got a great atmosphere at night with live music pretty often.

 

If you're a chain type of guy, there is a Famous Daves in Cool Springs.

As for being a "chain type of guy", there are some really good chains, but I like to find thoses places that are unique to the area.

 

I know I am going to try to do my part for the economy and support the businesses of Franklin. Now I am going to sing the national anthem!

Being from Texas when I moved here 15 yrs ago the first thing I looked was BBQ. The best and closest to the arena is shane's at columia and mack hatcher. If you want to travel Jim and Nick's in Smyrna is the best.

Have you tried Judge Bean's brisket in Brentwood yet? I'm told it is Texas style-----------the guy who owns it is from Texas and the place is adorned with Whorns memorabilia. Cooks it in a smoker out back. I like it and some Big Twelve fan buddies of mine ( Oklahoma, Kansas, KSU, Aggies ) like it and we try to get together for lunch there once a month. But I'm not from Texas---you are, so maybe if you have eaten there you would have a more authoritative take on it.
