It probably goes without saying, but if Science Hill was in Cleveland's bracket, it would be Bradley and SH wrestling for the state title and Science Hill coming in 2nd. Cleveland now gets that honor even though the Hill beat them earlier in the year. That's the breaks

SHHS was in Cleveland's bracket as was Franklin. FHS lost to Cleveland 34-32 (CHS ff last 2) and Science Hill by 9.

My bad, It was a long day - I was wrong saying that SH was in cleveland's bracket. Either way, good wrestling today.

I'm glad you reposted..............I thought I was losing my mind. As I age, I can feel it coming

Yes, Cleveland beat CBHS at the Cleveland Duals 37-36.

On a side note, congratulations to Bradley for their championship.

Cleveland, well done Coach Phillips! Great job, enjoyed getting to know you this year and looking forward to future battles. Science Hill, awesome job, Coach Price and staff, you got a great bunch of guys on that team. Tom Graham and Collierville, great tournament showing and some well deserved respect. Pat Simpson and the Ryan group, Congrats, that was fun, let's do that again in two weeks with Baylor and McCallie and the rest.

Joe Blair and staff, great job!

I hope this year does not turn into another "independence" woulda, coulda, shoulda......placed higher, crying game.

I bet Science Hill did not go into the tournament looking for second place.

Top teams in the entire State are Bradley, Cleveland, Science Hill and maybe even Soddy,,,,,then start with the other teams of FR, CBHS and Baylor. final standings.

Are you serious? Ryan already beat Cleveland this year and I am willing to bet, would give Bradley all they could handle like Cleveland did last night, so why should Ryan be ranked behind them, just because you are the all knowing expert on TN wrestling and your word is law? Soddy this year is just a joke when it comes to dual matches (but they do have some great individuals ie Campbell Lewis) so why should they be above Ryan, Baylor, CBHS? I think the D-I people this year are all drinking from the same kool aid. Give D-II the respect it is due.

Yes I am serious. Maybe not Soddy, but they sure were coming on late this season, which is why I mentioned them. I do believe the top three in DI could prevail in a match with FR. It is by no mean the "law" and I am not sure why you went there. It is my opinion of where the teams are today.

Someone please pass the kool aide, I enjoy the juice.

Whatever is in that juice don't drive while you drink it! Uh, here are a few other scores from this year....

CBHS 57 Coliierville 6

CBHS 37 Science Hill 21

McCallie 45 Cleveland 26

McCallie 37 Science Hill 33

Father Ryan 36 Cleveland 28

To summarize, of the top 4 teams at the State Duals in D1 only Bradley Central did not get beat multiple times by teams in the top 4 in D2 or get beat by one of the D2 teams by more than 50 points (Collierville). Going the other direction Cleveland was the only D1 team to beat a team in the top 4 of D2, eeking out a 1 point win over CBHS.

THE FACTS ARE THE FACTS. The top 4 in D1 were 1-5 against the top 4 this year in D2.

FYI..the Soddy results against top D2 schools

Baylor 69 Soddy Daisy 3

McCallie 47 Soddy Daisy 16

Father Ryan 61 Soddy Daisy 9

Coach Lewis,

Congrats to your squad on a great tournament and how hard your guys wrestled. Now to another VERY IMPORTANT question. Dude, where did you find that suit? :thumb:

Naw in reality he is a great guy, just wish everyone could have seen him wrestle in the AAu tournament at Cumberland Co a few years back. That was a site, Ye-haw!!!!!!!

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
