pooh1200
They have one of top point guards in the state in Quentin Lee. If it wasn't for his second half performance vs jcm saturday night it would've been the tigers last night. 25 of the 44 point belonged to him with 20 coming in the second half. As far as big men, I haven't seen too many players with the heart that these guys play with. James Cohill reminds me alot of Ron Artest. Great defender, aggressive down low and can shoot the 3ball. They have a deadly shooter from the outside in Jacoby Harris. Once he gets it to fall from the outside you betta believe there are several more to follow. And big man in the middle. Rocko Windbush. First year playin organized ball and you can never tell it. You can just about count on 10 to 15 points, 6-10 rebounds, and a couple of blocked shot. He battles. JodyJoe
What makes you think they'll beat Liberty?
playboysb
its no way in the world ripley beats liberty unless liberty has a horrible game. kendall anthony 5'9 pg corderio williams 5'10 sg deandre barnett 6'4 F and Tarius johnson 6'4 F(who is underrated i must add since ive seen him on multiple occasions go toe to toe with casey prather from north side and win most of their battles) alone are tooo much for ripley they can shoot they all can shoot the three and are very aggressive rebounding the ball but what really breaks teams down is their defense its stellar especially when they full court press. and the have a scrappy bunch off the bench.. Ripley better bring their A game or it could get ugly
toinemac
I think Ripley has a chance. I think most of us underestimated the 14AA teams. Pooh what can you tell me about DeAndre McKinnie. He used to live in Bolivar and now plays for Ripley. Does he contribute?
btownbasketball
What makes you think they'll beat Liberty? Thats the same question I wanted to ask. I looked at Ripleys schedule and did'nt see any impressive wins. That in no way means that Ripley is not a good team. I still have Liberty by 15 points I think they will play a game that Ripley is not used to.
Purple & Gold Standard
Ripley's only tough games after the New Year was with Haywood and Covington....Really, the only real tough teams Ripley played, they lost...I'd go with with Liberty by 12-15 pts.... ReitzFan
If it comes down to a coaching move, I will go with Ralph Turner and Ripley, no question about it!
pooh1200
Deandre Mckinney is a good kid and very effective. Whenever he touches the ball u can count on him taking it to his defender attacking the bucket. He's only a sophomore and Ripleys starting small forward. And believe it is gonna come down to whos the better coach. No ripley hasnt played alot of the teams that Liberty and Bolivar has played but that doesn't mean they can't compete. The Memphis Tigers are conference usa and doesn't play the top teams everyone else plays but did that stop them from making it to the championship game? Everyone is talking about Tarius Johnson. Yes he's good but what about Quentin Lee? Johnson and Lee started on the same AAU team during the summer Ranking number one in the state and 8 in the United States. Which Lee had to go toe to toe with White Stations Joe Jackson while johnson battling Ridgeways Tarik Black. Jackson ended up with 27 while lee put in 23. Tarius may dominate Ripleys big men but Libertys guards is gonna catch heck with Lee. So Liberty is not gonna dominate Ripley like everyone is thinking. Dont count Ripley out cause they're good.
