Hixson has a strong senior led team this year and good underclassmen to back em up..... A lot of great players on this team and will definately be a force to be reckoned with!! cant wait to see em in action

 

How did Hixson do in the playday on Saturday at Camp Jordan?

 

I saw Hixson in one of their 40 min sessions. They seem to have a very solid team, some skill, some speed, some size...... I'm not sure I would call them a force. I do believe that they have what they need to contend in their district. BUT Hey....Time will tell.

Whats going on this pre season around Chatt? I have seen a few results on here about CCS. I will have to get in contact with my Boyd guys to see how they have been doing, may try and hit up a practice next week. Haven't heard anything about Ooltewah, Soddy, Hixson, etc. I know Boyd was suppose to play Bradley Central in a scrimmage this past Thursday, but I haven't heard anythign about it. They have some play day at Camp Jordan today maybe? They end the preseason playing Ooltewah in a scrimmage on March 11. MVM where are you at? :thumb:

 

Reaction I missed the Cleveland vs Boyd match up. How did Boyd end up at the playday?

Hey MVM sorry it took so long for me to get this info for you, but I was told Boyd ended up beating Cleveland 1-0 in that play day. First game for the Bucs is Tuesday at CSAS. The guys seem excited about this season.

Didn't Sequatchie just start the program last year? Good to seem the getting some wins under there belt Indian.

 

 

This is the second-year for an all-male team. Two years ago they also had girls out there and basically played scrimmages if I remember right. The best player, roughly 20 goals scored last year, is a senior so hopefully the program will continue to build after he graduates.

I saw SC during the playday.....They are not a bad team at all. I was impressed with their play.

They beat Signal Mountain earlier this week to go 3-1. The loss was to Cumberland County. I was told they were missing 2 of their main players vs Cumberland, I don't know if that was part of the loss or not.

 

I remember when we played SC they had a guy named Lupe who was very skilled. He should be a senior this season. Any team that plays them must stop Lupe to achieve success

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
