Not saying they are my team. I support all East Tn. I have seen all greene county teams play including most others from East Tn. If you read my posts I usually have more knowldege of AA and A baseball because I know a few of those coaches. I think Christopher's broken hand will play a role. But, I can't believe she is attempting to play. She has to be one of the tougher players out there. The older players are experienced guards, but christopher is quicker and obviously can'y play wing or post. Should be a fun one. Wish I could be there. But, I probably do have to give the edge to McMinn due to the injury.

Any girl that plays with anything broken has my respect. It does seem it would make it hard to control the ball. She has to be wearing some kinda brace or something right? You also have to take into consideration the fact that McMinn Central has been at the Boro for about the past 12 years with about maybe 1 or 2 years not present. These girls from MC, with the exception of the freshman have been every year if not mistaken.

It's going to be a battle...GHS is one of the most balanced and overall strong team around. They don't have weak guard play with or without Christopher. They are just more comfortable in their offense with her running it and allows the other guards more opportunity to score instead of having to direct the offense. They will be fine either way. And GHS has been to the Boro the last 6 out of 7 years in AAA so they are no stranger to the atmosphere either. Probably be one of the best match-ups of the tourney. As far as the "quality play" you mentioned on the Polk/SG board, GHS knocked off an EXCELLENT 4th Ranked Elizabethton to make it to the Regionals.

Does greeneville have alot of height/size in the post? How do they compare to last year's team from Elizabethton that made state? How deep do they go?

Its not just size underneath for Greeneville, JW....its presence. Raney Storey is a Beast underneath and neither her or Fender is the least bit timid on the boards. And while the girls will miss the sophomore PG, Shipley and Kelly are experienced and quite talented. Stacia Crumbley is a fine young coach with good instincts and she has put together an extremely talented and well balanced team that plays stingy defense and can hit their free-throws....when the competition gets to this stage sometimes thats just the edge you need.

A "BEAST" for sure. I don't know how many bodies of other team members I have seen flying through the air. And I'm not saying she fouled...she just stands there with her hands up and they run into her. I said somewhere else that she's like a brick wall. It's amazing. Good luck Devils!

Presence...she is not afraid to stand in there and take a hit. And for all the fouls called on her there are a awful lot of offensive fouls called because of her PRESENCE. She plays great defense and she is one great young lady as well.

Central has a beast of their own by the name of Massengill who is just a freshman. Can't wait to see these two match up it could be a slobber-knocker.

With Lee stepping up in sub-state, I think her confidence is up. Other bench play stepped it up in sub-state game too. This will be valuable for Chargerettes.

    • Sounds like a great opportunity has opened up for the football team.  With the head coach of the diamond rebels making it official and quitting this week, there should be some room for the gridiron guys to benefit. I assume the administration won’t continue paying six figures to two former coach that quit to continue teaching drivers Ed. Thats pretty good money that could be redirected toward the football program. Also, with the more recent policies of pushing kids to only play one sport, abolishing the baseball program altogether would help on Friday nights in the fall. There is some decent speed on that baseball team that should’ve been playing on Fridays IMO. I’m not sure if anybody would really miss that baseball program anyway with it being across town from the school. The liability of letting players actually use the facilities could also be mitigated with closing the program. That liability seems to be a really big issue for 825. Anyway, it seems like a great opportunity is available.
    • Yeah, I read about their spring blue/gray scrimmage after I typed that.   Sounds like a real mess over there.  I just hate that for 'em.  Haw
    • Maybe OR will be, but Farragut, nah, I don’t think anybody realizes how much of a bad situation that program is in currently. I’m sure they will build out of it, but the next 3 to 4 years are going to be a long climb up.
    • Thats one of the problems of having an 8-team region. A team could make it in any other region, but the numbers work against them in this one.
