Howard vs Liberty

Howard doesn't have that great of coaching. Moose is a good guy but not a great coach. Yea, he wins in the city of Chatt. but he never takes the team anywhere for tournaments outside the city to play really hard competition or even competition(teams) that he might see in the state tournament. Winning during the season is great but 1 game and out is only satisfactory. When you get to state you have to rely on that tough competition, whether you won or lost, to help you battle through tough situations that you may face at the state tournament. If you haven't played very tough competition, you better be a great coach that can make adjustments when needed during the state tournament and have watched alot of game film on the teams that are present at the state tournament. Moose does none of this and really can't. You can't always keep doing the same things that you have done all year and always be successful at the state. Preparation is the key. You may go up there with the attitude that people know who we are but year after year, they know where you are going. Home. Moose just can't win the big one. 26-4 looks good for a coaches record but a gold ball looks good for everybody. Nobody remembers how you start, they remember how you finish. 20 times to the tournament with no results is only field trips.

I don't like the way he always seems to blame the players for any loss, whenever there is coverage of the game. Here is the latest:

"It's hard to understand, but when we get to Murfreesboro we don't show up...There wasn't much hustle in the Hustlin' Tigers today. I don't get how you can be one of eight teams still playing for a championship and look like you're sleep-walking out there. We never acted like we had any energy about us.

"It's like in a fight. If you get hit, you should hit back. We never had that fight about us for some reason. I try to tell our kids to play football or other sports to get tougher. We just weren't tough enough."

    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
