The Jackets have already played 5 games this week, and 2 JV games. We're supposed to play Adamsville tomorrow if the weather permits. So, that'll be 6 games and 2 JV games this week.

We beat Bruceton today 8-6. OUr 6th string pitcher started this game, and our 5th string pitcher finished it. Hitting is getting better every game.

We lost to Huntingdon 17-10 in the second game. We started our 5th string pitcher against them. He pitched great for 4 innings, and we were leading 6-1. Then, he got tired....he had pitched 3 2/3 in the first game, and he had pitched Monday and Tuesday in the JV games. So, he started walking people, and Huntingdon started hitting him. Before we could turn around, Huntingdon had scored a lot of runs.

Dont know who will pitch tomorrow. Dont know if we have anyone left to pitch? But, these boys are getting some very good experience from this.

Obion Central has played 11 games in the last 10 days...Just like MLB.. ..They are scheduled to play two more tomorrow, take Sunday off then play Monday and Tuesday...

Purple,

When you have a school the size of Obion Central, they may have 8 or 9 guys that can pitch, maybe more. In the world of single A, you may have 3 or 4 guys that can pitch; and you might have 1 or 2 more that "you're working with."

But, that's a lot of games for Obion. I'd imagine that they were very tired at the end of that run.

Anyway, our game with Adamsville for today was rained out. We're supposed to play Trenton on Monday, and then again on Tuesday. Those are district games, and Trenton will be tough from what I'm hearing.

I just hope our 2 best pitchers are ready to roll. One of them is trying to get over a nagging injury.

Easter Slam

April 1

Halls 4 Dyersburg 4 (Great Game) Our #3 pitcher kept Dyersburg at bay. Game ended in tie because of tournament format.

Halls 14 Advance, MO 6. Freshman Chisholm vaughan got the win.

April 2 Halls 2 Ripley 11. Interesting thing about tournament play is everyone reaches the end of their rotation. Have to be able to overcome those things. Great start for the Tigers considering all the AA & AAA teams they have played. 6 wins 4 losses 1 tie

Trenton won both games. They won the first game 5-0, and they won the second game 6-2. We're just not hitting the ball right now, and we're just not playing realy sharp at this time. We fell to 6-6 and 2-2 in the district.

Trenton has a good team. From what I'm hearing from the boys on the bench, the two lefties that Trenton threw at us were pitching so slow that they just couldnt get their timing down. They just had a hard time waiting on the ball to get to the plate.

Anyway, Trenton has a good, young team. I hope the Jackets bats wake up soon. We've got to have better hitting. Last night, we left so many people on the bases. One time, we had the bases loaded and no outs, and could not score!

sf got their bats rolling this weekend against gleason and fulton on thursday.

didn't get any wins friday or saturday but hit really well, if we get a litttle more out of our pitchers and play better D we could turn our season around.

pitched great monday vs halls and won 6-3. bats came alive early and held on late.

Greenfield beat Gleason tonite 4-0. The Jackets are now 7-6(2-2 in district). Our 3rd string pitcher, I guess you'd call him, pitched a great game....a shutout. The Jackets played very good defense in this game.

Next week, they start off with 2 district games against Bradford....then they play at Dresden on Wed. morning...then Martin comes to Greenfield on Thurs. I believe. It should be an interesting week.

    • Best-of-three sectional series vs East Robertson at home starting Wednesday.  They put us out last year at this point.  Go Pirates!!
    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.

    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
