Well it's Melrose vs. White Station for the Gold Ball. This will be the 5th time these guys have met this year with Melrose holding a 3-1 edge. It appears that Melrose will be without Rucker which is a big blow. Wilkerson also left the game with an injury and did not return. Can Melrose's depth overcome these injuries and the outstanding White Station Spartans?

With Rucker, I would have said Melrose by 8 to 15 pts.

Without Rucker....Man, that makes me stop and think (given WS' 3 post players).

Wow. This is a BIG problem for Melrose....I'm thinking back to Melrose's 2 losses to Central:

Common denominator -- No Nate Rucker in either loss (well, he got tossed out of game right after half-time, during their 1st loss to Central. Melrose was leading comfortably and in control, prior to that)! Central controlled the paint and defeated Melrose.

With Rucker --- Melrose neutralized Central's rebounding and post play. Melrose won.

-------------------------------------------------

While not as consistent or offensively productive as Central's two post players, White Station does have three post player's. They are LIKELY to cause Melrose some problems tomorrow, despite Melrose's depth.

Prediction: Man....I'm still leaning towards Melrose. But....man-- I just don't know yet! I'm seriously gonna have to stop and think about this one, all of a sudden!!

I am taking Melrose in a close game.... Joe Jackson hits game winning shot, as time expires. Hate to see the season end tomorrow....this has been an awesome year.

I agree with you there, what a great BB season it has been, maybe one of the very best here in Memphis.

I hope the two Melrose players are ok. Are we sure Rucker broke his ankle ?

Spartans by 3, down to the wire ( I went there, my kids went there, what do you expect :thumb: )

This game is a true SHOCKER! :thumb:

ALL WEST TN FINAL!!!!

Two Great teams battling it out for the championship.

I think Melrose has too much talent overall, but its hard to go against Joe Jackson!!!!

I'm pulling for White Station even though I think Melrose will win, but the underdog has taken over in College Basketball this year so anything can happen!!!!

This game depends HEAVILY on Adonis Thomas. If he plays well, gets 15+ points, and at least 8 rebounds then I believe Melrose takes this game. The thing I love about Melrose's big guards is that they are physical. Bobby Parks, and McAfee have played outstanding post defense this postseason. Chris Jones vs. Joe Jackson will be the 2nd most important matchup. Melrose shut down Joe Jackson last time, if they do it again I don't know if Miles, Williams, and Johnson can do what they did against Clarksville NE.

Melrose 78 White Station 74!

    • Wow I haven't been keeping up with softball had no idea.Been keeping up with baseball and we are slowly fading there.I will check it out!!Thx
    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
